“A man cannot understand the art he is studying if he only looks for the end result without taking the time to delve deeply into the reasoning.”
Seriyu (青龍) was founded during DefenseCon 2956, born from a vision to carry the spirit of Kyoto’s ancient defenders into the vast, turbulent expanse of the ’verse. In an age marked by rapid expansion and hollow alliances, our founders recognized a simple truth: longevity is built on principle. We turned to the old ways—traditions of honor, discipline, and the refined martial culture of a time long passed.
At the heart of Seriyu lies Wa (和)—harmony through unity and mutual respect. This is not a passive peace, but a resolute togetherness. We are the Blue Dragon among the stars: measured, watchful, and committed to a standard of conduct that many have abandoned.
We do not measure strength by the size of a fleet, but by the skill of the hand that guides it. Whether you fly a starter ship with a master’s precision or maintain a rare Capital vessel—treated within our halls as a Daimyo’s Castle (大名)—your worth is defined by your craft. We value those who treat their ships as extensions of their own spirit.
Our success is achieved through absolute coordination and clarity of thought. We have established specialized divisions catering to every path in the ‘verse—from the shadows of the frontier to the heights of industry and science. While our roles are diverse, they are united by a singular, immersive aesthetic. Every division operates under the same cultural banner, ensuring that no matter your task, you are a Guardian first.
Seriyu is a sanctuary for the soft-spoken and the resolute. We have no place for hotheads or the chaotic. We seek those who embody:
Sincerity & Presence: We want active, real human beings—problem solvers who engage with the community rather than observers who remain stagnant.
Polite Discipline: We operate with courtesy and absolute loyalty. Our strength is like snow gathering to form a mountain—silent, steady, and undeniable.
Cultural Immersion: This is a home for those who find beauty in Japanese culture. To be Seriyu is to embrace the “weeb” spirit—not just as a hobby, but as a dedicated way of life in the ‘verse.
Growth in Seriyu is never a race; it is a curation. We do not open the gates to the masses. Instead, we follow the path of Hito-ri (一人)—bringing in one unique voice at a time. This ensures that every new Guardian is not just a number on a roster, but a person whose name, skills, and spirit are known to all. We prioritize the harmony of the existing circle over the speed of expansion. Growth starts with one additional member each time, adding a unique and vital point to our community.
We believe that a single Aurora piloted with intent is more valuable than an Idris piloted by ego. Whether we are navigating deep-space industrial routes or defending our interests in the frontier, we operate through quiet communication and shared problem-solving. We don’t need loud voices; we need sharp minds.
Cultural Fellowship: Beyond the cockpit, Seriyu is a sanctuary for those who share a love for Japanese aesthetics and “weeb” culture. Our community discussions often drift from ship loadouts to philosophy, art, and the media that inspires us. We are a home for the introverted, the thoughtful, and the learners.
The Daimyo’s Accord: While we operate with the efficiency of a military unit during operations, our social structure is built on mutual respect. Every member is a steward of Kyoto’s legacy. We look after our own, ensuring that no member is left behind in the vastness of the black.
Seriyu is more than an organization; it is a commitment to a way of life among the stars. We are building a sanctuary for those who value character, long-term loyalty, and the quiet strength of a tight-knit community.
We seek the softly spoken and the steadfast—those who approach the ‘verse with a learner’s heart and a problem-solver’s mind. If you are looking for a place where you will be truly known, where your presence adds a unique brushstroke to our collective canvas, and where Wa (和) is our North Star, then the Blue Dragon awaits.
Seriyu is more than a collective of pilots—we are the inheritors of Kyoto’s ancient defenders, carrying the Old Ways into the far reaches of the ’verse. Our identity is rooted in the philosophy of the Edo period: discipline, respect, and the pursuit of Wa (和)—harmony through unity and mutual regard.
We move through the stars with the grace of wind and the permanence of mountains, guided always by sincerity.
We operate under the doctrine of Heihō (兵法)—the understanding that true strength lies not in numbers, but in clarity of mind and unity of action. We reject the “zerg” mentality of mindless accumulation.
In Seriyu, mastery is valued over excess. Every member is expected to refine their craft—whether in combat, science, or industry. We do not simply pilot ships; we come to know them, operate them with intent, and wield them with precision.
