Welcome, to Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services! Our mission is to serve our community by providing security, rescue, and emergency medical services that are professional and prompt, utilizing the most current methods and resources available.
History
About Us
Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services began with the vision of building an organization meant to provide a niche service to the Star Citizen universe. Soon after our founding even this did not seem ambitious enough. We want to become more, we want to become the best rescue service agency in the Persistent Universe. Our mission is not a slogan, it is a driving motivation. Our promise is not a selling point, it is an inspiration to commit. The number of our members is not a reason to join, the quality of our membership is a reason to stay.
We hope to become a thriving and active community of gamers that rallies around an idea. That idea is that venturing out into the vast expanse of the ‘verse does not have to be done alone. We can delve into this new adventure together, help each other, and help others, all the while forging friendships and sense of camaraderie.
Manifesto
An Ambitious Organization
The driving force of our mission is love of the community we call home, and the sense of pride we derive from serving our friends, neighbors, and those who visit our community.
Our goals are simple: establish a reliable emergency services unit, help other is need, and ensure the continued professionalism of our members. This organization will take on a role similar to a volunteer emergency organization. As such no members of the organization will be forced to “respond to calls” or participate in certain organizational activities if they do not wish to do so; however members are encouraged to be active and participate.
The Future
Individual members of SFRES can make a major difference. Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services is looking for both leaders and regular members to help us complete our vision: medics and pilots to staff our rescue vessels, engineers and mechanics to maintain our own fleet and provide assistance to others, and security specialists to protect and defend our assets and those of the individuals we are assisting.
Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services has but one (1) restriction:
Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services is a lawful organization – our members must not participate in piracy. Remember, for those itching for combat there will be plenty of chances during rescue and recovery operations. Any members caught participating in “unlawful” activities will be made to resign from the organization, and be unable to return.
Charter
A Structure to Meet Our Needs
Spatium Fire Rescue and Emergency Services is at the moment a small organization, but we must plan for the future and plan for growth.As such we must outline the areas in which we will be operating. Each of the following Sectors will fall under the command of three line officers; one Captain, one First Lieutenant, and one Second Lieutenant.Sectors
Medical
- Patient transport, and patient care
Search & Rescue
- Search, rescue, and victim recovery
Security
- Fleet security, operational overwatch, and other combat related functions
Engineering
- Fleet maintenance, salvage operations, and emergency repair and maintenance services
Logistics
- Operational planning, communications, and personnel management
Note: Members may participate in more than one Sector if they wish to do so. Membership in one Sector does not preclude a member from participating in another Sector or taking part in operational activities that fall outside of their Sectors typical duties.
Line Officer Duties
- Train, advise, and oversee the recruits and members within their Sectors.
- Lead the members of their Sector, work with the organization administrators, and manage operations (See Below)
Operations: Getting the Job Done
Large-scale and often complex search & rescue, rescue & recovery, and salvage operations will be quite frequent for this organization. These operations will encompass most if not all of the Sectors mentioned above. A search and rescue operation for example would require Logistics for planning, Search & Rescue as the main component, Medical to treat any wounded, and Security on overwatch. A salvage operation would require Logistics for planning and transportation of salvaged materials, Engineering to undertake the salvage, Security on overwatch, and Medical on standby should they be needed.
