Origins

The organization now known as Subject To Change (SJTC) traces its origins to a loose alliance of independent haulers, miners, and salvagers operating along the fringe systems beyond heavily patrolled UEE trade lanes. During the early expansion into unstable frontier sectors, many civilian contractors found themselves abandoned by major corporations once profits became uncertain and piracy escalated. Cargo crews vanished without escorts. Mining claims were seized by outlaw gangs. Salvage operators disappeared beyond comm arrays without investigation. The UEE maintained order where it could, but the far reaches of space remained vast, underdeveloped, and dangerous.
SJTC was born from necessity.
A small convoy of independent operators began coordinating mutual defense during cargo runs through high-risk systems. Initially, the coalition consisted of only a handful of aging freighters, mining rigs, and retrofitted escort fighters. Their goal was simple:

Protect the route. Protect the crew. Bring everyone home.

What began as temporary cooperation quickly evolved into a permanent organization as successful operations attracted freelancers, industrial crews, former military pilots, and frontier specialists seeking stability without surrendering independence.

Why “Subject To Change”

The name Subject To Change originated as an old operational phrase repeatedly put on almost every early convoy’s shipment and manifest. With pirates interdicting the supply lanes and bandits raiding the mining and salvage ops, the need for a disclaimer arose. “All plans subject to change.” Over time, the phrase became a symbol of the org itself. Adaptability became the foundation of SJTC culture. Members embraced unpredictability rather than fearing it, believing survival belonged to those willing to evolve faster than the dangers around them. The phrase eventually became the coalition’s official identity.

Modern Era

Today, SJTC operates as a respected org across Stanton, Nyx and neighboring systems. While smaller than the mega orgs dominating the charts, the organization has found a reputation as a reliable, disciplined brotherhood. Their fleets are commonly seen escorting heavily loaded cargo ships through jump points, mining or salvaging contested regions.
To outsiders, SJTC may appear to be merely another industrial organization.
To its members, however, the org represents something greater:
A brotherhood who found prosperity in chaos and created unity in the most dangerous corners of space.

Home of SJTC

The members of SJTC, while united brothers in arms, make their home from where profitability and fortunes call. The main headquarters are located in the central hub of the Nyx system while many of base personal operations in Stanton are busy trade centers of Area 18 or the industrial capital of Lorville.
