Solar Slingshot [SLINGSHOT] - Organizations

History

Established in 2933, Solar Slingshot Solutions was created to bind together a loose collection of miners and explorers. The corporation was disbanded after several unfortunate pirate attacks on the organization’s adventuring, mining and hauling ships. While most property losses were insured, the corporation had lost a significant number of its employees during these attacks. The human toll, now weighing heavily upon the owners of the corporation, began to falter in their leadership. Salvaging the finances of the corporation was still possible, as there were no outstanding financial burdens still unpaid, and insured losses had been paid out. Ultimately in 2936 the corporation was closed, when its owners decided to pursue other business ventures.

In the year 2944, the company was reopened and rebranded to “Solar Slingshot”. Still under the original ownership, but with a renewed image and vision, the organization now focuses primarily on for-profit exploration of non-public locations.

Manifesto

Casual Role-Play

We’re mostly a collection of casual to normal gamers who know each-other, or are at least loosely affiliated through some sort of “six degrees of separation”. This organization does not represent or aim for galactic conquest. We don’t aim to capture alien battle-cruisers (unless it was in our best interest for the organization’s growth). We are simply looking to have mostly stress-free and relaxing fun in the exciting universe that will be Star Citizen.

Recruiting

We are looking to grow the organization with membership. We’re based in the United States, and have our own TeamSpeak server. If you’d like to join and participate in this experimental business model, please submit an application! We do also play several other games, and would enjoy the opportunity to play Co-Op style.

Star Charts for Sale

Solar Slingshot’s primary function is to provide off-the-shelf star charts for sale, containing locations unknown to the UEE! We’re a neutral 3rd party, able to sell to any organization that will pay. Our locations are ideal for freelance mercenary organizations, privateer fleets, and mining operations! We even offer star maps for individuals, looking to find solitude in a surprisingly crowded universe.

Crowd-sourced data pooling for members

Freelance members of Solar Slingshot are entitled to viewing and using all location data accumulated by its other freelance members. While this data is made available to all participating members, we also know how hard each explorer has worked to find these locations. Members will not sell information containing another member’s locales, without providing an appropriate commission to the members and the organization.

For-hire scouting and exploration

Got a solar system that we haven’t checked out yet? Solar Slingshot is available for hire! We will explore any regions of space, and can even offer peaceful recon to known locales. Our services are a perfect for large scale tactical operations planning, as well as mining operations. *While our ships are well armed, we are not a private military contractor, and may require additional payment to perform for-hire work into war zones or other high-risk hostile areas.

Members gain experience working on large multi-crew ships

Explore the universe with authority and presence in our fleet’s Constellation Aquila! Practice your role as a member of a large crew, or in a fleet support operation providing tactical escort. Every member is absolutely vital to our success, and your personal and monetary rewards will reflect that!

Organization Ambitions

We are constantly working toward self-improvement. To that end, and through sales of star charts, we strive to upgrade our flagship from a Constellation Aquila, into an Idiris! Help support our goal to purchase this ship in the verse, so that we may all reap the benefits!

Charter

Members shall contribute at least one explored location, with information not contained within the UEE public star charts.
Members will gain access to a centralized organization database, containing all locations discovered by all other members.
Members are permitted to sell this information to any 3rd party, provided that fair commission is given to the discoverer of any sold locations, as well as a fair commission to the organization treasury. *Fair discovery commission rates are yet to be determined.
Members are permitted to freelance for any other corporation, organization, or even privateer faction, provided they are not selling or using confidential company information in a way that would cause financial, physical, or perceived harm to Solar Slingshot, its members, customers or affiliates. Members also agree to hold harmless Solar Slingshot for any damages, financial losses or loss of life attributed to the misuse of company assets or records.
All financial gains of Solar Slingshot will be reinvested back into the organization. This includes component upgrades for the organization’s ships, the purchase of new ships for the organization, and recurring costs such as hangars, fuel, repairs.
Officers are entitled to fly the organization’s ships at any time. Non-Officer members may request access to use ships, provided they are for legitimate organization purposes as outlined in our manifesto, or if you’d simply like to ‘take it out for a spin’.
Members shall not represent the organization in a negative light. We don’t discriminate against members also involved with law enforcement, privateer, mining corporations, or alien invasions, but please do it privately. We will not permit a member to deal harm to any other citizen under our banner.
Members found to be in violation of the charter, may face immediate corrective actions up to and including expulsion from the organization, degraded status with the organization and its members, and bounties equal to the financial harm dealt to the organization and its members.

Disclaimer The organization reserves the right to change these policies at any time, based on game design changes, leadership changes, or even “what we felt like this month”. However, we will always continue to support the general ideology behind peaceful for-profit exploration.
