Space Monkey Universal Services / SMUS

Space Monkey Universal Services exists to give players the benefits of an organized Star Citizen community without turning the game into a second job.

We believe casual players can still be capable players. Participation should be encouraged, not demanded. Leadership should provide direction, resources, and opportunities—not unnecessary rules or artificial authority. Members should be free to pursue their own goals while knowing that dependable support is available when they need it.

S.M.U.S. brings industry, security, and supply together under one organization. The Monkey Wrench Fleet builds and moves what our members need. The Space Monkey Marine Corps protects our people, assets, and objectives. The Space Monkey Supply Syndicate finds opportunities and secures the resources that keep us moving.

We operate lawfully. We do not engage in piracy, griefing, or violence without purpose. When we fight, it is to defend our members, protect an operation, secure an objective, or complete a legitimate contract.

We value reliability over empty promises, cooperation over ego, and competence over rank. Nobody is expected to know everything, but everyone should be willing to learn, contribute, and treat other members with respect.

S.M.U.S. is a casual community with serious capability. We may joke, improvise, and play at our own pace—but when the organization commits to an operation, we work together and finish what we started.

-Article I — Purpose

Space Monkey Universal Services exists to provide a lawful, organized, and welcoming community for Star Citizen players.

S.M.U.S. combines industrial operations, security services, procurement, trade, and logistical support under one organization. Its purpose is to help members pursue their goals, participate in coordinated operations, and access dependable support without turning membership into a second job.

-Article II — Guiding Principles

S.M.U.S. is founded on the following principles:

Community: Members should be treated with respect and welcomed regardless of experience level.
Reliability: Commitments matter. Members who join an operation should make a reasonable effort to fulfill their assigned role.
Cooperation: Personal success and organizational success should support one another.
Competence: Members are encouraged to learn, improve, and share knowledge.
Freedom: Participation is voluntary unless a member has specifically committed to an operation or responsibility.
Purposeful Action: S.M.U.S. does not engage in piracy, griefing, or violence without a legitimate objective.

-Article III — Organizational Structure

S.M.U.S. is led by TheyCallMeHero, who serves as the head of the parent organization and provides overall direction, coordination, and final organizational oversight.

S.M.U.S. operates through three specialized branches:

Monkey Wrench Fleet
The Monkey Wrench Fleet manages mining, salvage, hauling, recovery, refining, transportation, and industrial logistics.
The M.W.F. is led by Milinko01.

Space Monkey Marine Corps
The Space Monkey Marine Corps provides security, escort, fleet defense, ground combat, boarding, anti-piracy, and tactical support.
The S.M.M.C. is led by ConvergedGaming.

Space Monkey Supply Syndicate
The Space Monkey Supply Syndicate manages procurement, trade, market intelligence, item sourcing, resource acquisition, and supply coordination.
The Supply Syndicate is led by CurseofJericho.

Each branch maintains its own operational identity and leadership while remaining accountable to SMUS as a whole.

-Article IV — Membership

Membership is open to players who support the values and lawful operating standards of S.M.U.S.

Members may participate casually, specialize within a branch, or contribute across multiple areas of the organization. No member is required to treat S.M.U.S. as a full-time commitment.

Members are expected to:

Treat others with respect.
Follow operation leadership when participating in coordinated activities.
Communicate honestly about availability and capability.
Avoid actions that damage the reputation or objectives of SMUS.
Support newer members when reasonably able.
Resolve disagreements without harassment, personal attacks, or unnecessary escalation.

-Article V — Operations

S.M.U.S. operations may include industrial expeditions, convoys, mining events, salvage missions, security contracts, combat deployments, procurement campaigns, training exercises, and community events.

Operational leadership may establish temporary roles, procedures, and chains of command for the duration of an activity.

Members are not obligated to join every operation. However, once a member accepts an assigned role, the organization may reasonably expect them to follow instructions, communicate problems, and avoid abandoning the operation without notice.

Leadership exists to coordinate and support members—not to create artificial authority outside the needs of the organization.

-Article VI — Rules of Engagement

S.M.U.S. is a lawful organization.

Members may use force to:

Defend themselves or other members.
Protect ships, cargo, personnel, and organizational assets.
Secure or defend an operational objective.
Fulfill a legitimate security or combat contract.
Respond to piracy, hostile interference, or direct threats.

S.M.U.S. members may not use the organization’s name, resources, or reputation to engage in piracy, griefing, harassment, scams, or attacks conducted solely for entertainment.

-Article VII — Amendments

This charter may be revised as S.M.U.S. grows and the needs of its members change.
Major changes to the organization’s purpose, structure, or standards should be communicated clearly to members before taking effect.

SMUS will continue to evolve, but its foundation will remain the same:
Casual community. Serious capability.
