History
SOEE is a product of a series of mergers that collectively created a multifaceted organization. The three major companies that came together to form SOEE were, Hostetler and Klymmer Survey Services (HaKSS), Freeman Assessments & Extractions (FAE), and Ballengee Interstellar Technical Enterprises & Maure Electronics (BITE-ME). Each of these corporations had different goals before the merger. HaKSS is all about the expansion of the known universe. HaKSS is kind of the spirit of SOEE determined and hardy. FAE is a mining, salvage, shipping company. FAE maintains more of the financial aspects of SOEE being the grounded one. BITE-ME is the brain behind SOEE. Fueled by curiosity BITEME wishes to understand the physical universe. With HaKSS’ discoveries FAE’s economic flexibility, and BITE-ME’s research capacity the future looks bright for this fresh organization.
Founded in 2947 by starry-eyed idealists on Terra, SOEE is a young organization, but it has a chance to become truly great, especially if its members’ convictions can live up to the dream. SOEE’s members are intrepid explorers, steely miners, extraordinary scientists, and bold settlers out to make a new life for themselves on the fringes of human-controlled space.
Manifesto
Our goal:
SOEE intends to survey unknown space and expand the sum of human knowledge. The ultimate goal of SOEE is to facilitate the growth of human settlement in outer regions of space, and so extend the influence of the UEE for generations to come.
Our motives:
SOEE is driven by the desire of its members to find out if space has a limit. Barring that, we aim to discover scientifically interesting phenomena, economically valuable ore deposits, human-habitable virgin worlds or even unknown alien civilizations.
Our views:
SOEE is a predominately civilian operation that seeks to empower the UEE through the discovery and acquisition of new knowledge, resources, and territory. As such, we will not be much loved by any group that seeks to undermine or is actively at odds with the UEE. These groups could include pirates, Xi’an, or Vanduul.
Charter
Members of SOEE will abide by a few simple rules:
I. Never bring harm onto the organization by intentionally flouting the laws of the UEE or by deliberately antagonizing other persons,companies, or political entities.
II. Never cheat or otherwise harm your fellow members of SOEE. We are, by definition, cooperative units of a greater whole, so to damage other members is to damage yourself.
III. Never harbor split loyalties. SOEE cannot evolve if its members are uncertain of their commitment to the organization, and thus cannot fully benefit its members or fully pursue its interests.
