SOLARSTONEHISTORY

Solarstone began with a simple idea: in a vast and uncertain universe, the hardest part is not moving forward. It is knowing which way to go.

The name is inspired by the ancient concept of the sunstone — an instrument of direction and discovery. But Solarstone is not a Viking organization, nor an attempt to recreate the past. The idea simply gave us a symbol for something timeless: finding your way when the path is not obvious.

In the Verse, there are countless paths. Explorer, trader, miner, salvager, pilot, soldier, industrialist, wanderer, or something entirely your own. Solarstone was created to give people the freedom to follow those paths while having a community to return to.

We believe the ships, careers and missions are what we do. The people are why we do them together.

A great ship can be replaced. Credits can be earned again. A mission eventually ends. But the people beside you, the stories you create and the memories you share are what remain.

Solarstone therefore exists somewhere between a community and an organization. We provide direction, opportunities and projects when people want to build something together, while leaving everyone free to choose their own path.

Our goal is not simply to reach a destination.

It is to make the journey worth remembering.

Manifesto

SOLARSTONEMANIFESTO

We believe people come before ships.

We believe everyone should be free to find their own path through the Verse.

We believe different paths do not divide us. They give us more ways to go further together.

We believe an organization should create opportunities, not obligations.

We believe crews should form naturally around friendship, affinity and shared purpose.

We believe leadership should provide direction without taking away freedom.

We believe contribution matters more than status, and responsibility matters more than rank.

We believe helping another player discover something they enjoy is more valuable than simply telling them how to play.

We believe the best organizations are measured not only by what they accomplish, but by the people who enjoy accomplishing it together.

And above all, we believe the journey matters.

For Solarstone:

When the mission ends, the crew remains. When the ships are gone, the memories remain. When the credits no longer matter, the people still do.

Find your own path.

Help others find theirs.

And when our paths meet, go further together.

That is Solarstone.

Charter

THE SOLARSTONE CHARTER

Solarstone is a community first, and an organization when we need to accomplish something together.

Our purpose is to create a place where people can find their own path through the Verse, share that journey with others, and build memories together.

I. PRINCIPLES

People come before ships, credits, ranks and achievements.

Membership is not a job. Participation is voluntary and contribution is appreciated.

Solarstone creates opportunities, not obligations.

Leadership provides direction; it does not dictate how people spend their time.

II. THE SOLARSTONE SANDBOX

Solarstone organizes shared activity through four simple concepts:

PROJECTS — Long-term objectives that give the organization a heading.

OPERATIONS — Specific missions and activities carried out by crews.

EVENTS — Shared experiences whose purpose may simply be to have fun.

CREWS — Groups of people who naturally come together around an activity, friendship or common interest.

Crews are not permanent squads. People are free to move between them and create new ones.

III. AUTHORITY

Leadership decides the destination.

Crews decide the route.

Members decide their path.

Authority follows responsibility. An Operation Leader has authority within the operation they lead. A Senator helps govern Solarstone. Neither role gives ownership over another member’s time.

Anyone may propose an idea. Not everyone decides its final adoption.

IV. THE SENATE

The Senate is Solarstone’s governing body.

Each Senator has one vote. The Founder has one normal vote like every other Senator, plus a constitutional veto intended to protect Solarstone’s fundamental identity and principles.

The Senate should always contain an even number of Senators alongside the Founder, keeping the total governing body odd and preventing ordinary deadlocks.

The Senate governs strategy, major projects, organizational resources and leadership matters.

V. THE FOUNDER

The Founder is the custodian of Solarstone, not its owner.

The Founder safeguards the Creed, identity and continued integrity of the organization.

The Founder should not use the veto for ordinary disagreements or personal preferences.

Solarstone must be capable of continuing without its Founder.

VI. EMERGENCY AUTHORITY

Emergency authority is a shield, not a throne.

Temporary emergency action may be taken when immediate action is necessary to protect Solarstone or its members.

Emergency powers must be limited, documented and reviewed. They cannot become permanent authority through continued use.

VII. REMOVAL AND SUCCESSION

The Founder may be removed only by the unanimous agreement of all Senators other than the Founder, and only for fundamental failures incompatible with continued leadership.

A Senator may be removed by the Senate through the required supermajority.

If the Founder becomes permanently unable or unwilling to lead, the Senate will establish a successor so that the organization can continue.

The office may change hands. The path continues.

VIII. WAYMARKS AND MEMORY

Solarstone does not measure people only by hours played, wealth accumulated or ships owned.

Waymarks recognize moments worth remembering: helping others, discovering something new, protecting the crew, building something together or creating a story that becomes part of Solarstone’s history.

The Ledger preserves those stories.

The Saga is the story they create together.

IX. FINAL PRINCIPLE

Find your own path.

Help others find theirs.

When our paths meet, go further together.

When the mission ends, the crew remains.

That is Solarstone.
