In the industrial heart of Lorville on Hurston, Dirraj, a brilliant but disillusioned engineer for Hurston Dynamics, dreamed of creating something better. Tired of the corporate exploitation around him, he sought to build a lawful organization that would help those in need. His vision was inspired by a phrase he often used: “squanching in the wrong place,” a saying picked up from an old friend obsessed with interdimensional theories.

One fateful evening, Dirraj discovered a strange, weathered journal in a Lorville scrapyard. The journal, written by someone referred to as “Rick S.,” was filled with wild notes on advanced technologies and unconventional problem-solving methods. While its origins were unclear, the ideas sparked Dirraj’s imagination. Using his savings and salvaged parts, he founded Squanch Works in a small workshop on Lorville’s outskirts.

Squanch Works was built on three core principles:

Lawful Action: Operate with integrity and within the law.
Ingenuity: Solve problems creatively, inspired by the chaotic brilliance in “Rick’s” notes.
Community: Help and protect the people of Stanton.
The organization quickly gained a reputation for taking on diverse challenges: rescuing stranded ships, salvaging wrecks, and providing lawful protection against pirates. Dirraj’s resourcefulness and unwavering sense of justice attracted a loyal crew, and Squanch Works became a beacon of hope in the Stanton system.

Now headquartered in a larger facility in Lorville, Squanch Works operates across Stanton and beyond, balancing humor with a serious commitment to its mission. Members often joke that they “squanch the squanch out of the galaxy,” but their dedication to making a difference is no laughing matter. Dirraj, still at the helm, reminds everyone: “It’s not where the squanch comes from—it’s what you do with it.”
