Founded in the year 2800, in the historic region of West Sussex, England, Terra, The Albion Initiative was established by a man with a singular vision: Sir Winston Cathedral.

At a time when humanity continued its expansion beyond the boundaries of its birthplace, Cathedral recognised a growing reality. As civilisation spread across the stars, so too did piracy, corporate conflict, political instability and the constant threat of those willing to prey upon the weak.

Security could no longer be confined to the borders of a single nation or planet.

It had to reach the stars.

Thus, The Albion Initiative was born.

The Albion Initiative is an independent military and security contractor specialising in high-risk operations throughout the known universe.

From the darkness of deep space to the streets and settlements of distant worlds, Albion personnel are trained to operate wherever they are required.

We were not founded to conquer.

We were not founded to rule.

We were founded because the stars are vast, civilisation is fragile, and wherever humanity travels, there will always be those willing to exploit weakness.

In the year 2800, in West Sussex, England, Sir Winston Cathedral established The Albion Initiative upon a simple belief:

Security is not merely a service. It is a responsibility.

As humanity spread beyond Terra, old borders became distant memories. New worlds emerged. New powers rose. Trade routes stretched across the darkness, carrying wealth, opportunity and ambition.

But alongside progress came danger.

Pirates preyed upon the vulnerable.

Criminal organisations flourished in lawless systems.

Conflicts threatened the innocent.

And too often, those in need of protection found themselves alone.

The Albion Initiative exists so that they are not.

THE ALBION INITIATIVE CHARTER

Established 2800 — West Sussex, England, Terra

### PREAMBLE

This Charter establishes the founding principles, structure, responsibilities and conduct of The Albion Initiative.

Founded in the year 2800 by Sir Winston Cathedral, The Albion Initiative was created as an independent military and security organisation dedicated to the professional protection of personnel, assets, territories and interests throughout the known universe.

This Charter shall serve as the guiding framework of the organisation.

All members who bear the name, insignia or colours of The Albion Initiative are expected to uphold its principles.

  1. ARTICLE I — THE PURPOSE OF THE INITIATIVE

The Albion Initiative exists to provide professional military and security services across space and planetary environments.

The organisation may undertake operations including, but not limited to:

  • Security and asset protection
  • Armed escort operations
  • Counter-piracy operations
  • Fleet defence
  • Combat patrols
  • Reconnaissance
  • Search and rescue
  • Tactical ground operations
  • Boarding actions
  • Facility security
  • Personnel extraction
  • Humanitarian and emergency response
  • Contracted military support

The Initiative shall conduct its operations with discipline, professionalism and respect for its personnel and allies.

  1. ARTICLE II — ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Albion Initiative shall be divided into two principal operational branches.

## THE SQUADRONS

The Squadrons shall form the primary aerospace and spacecraft division of the organisation.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Space superiority
  • Escort and protection
  • Interception
  • Reconnaissance
  • Transport
  • Close air and orbital support
  • Search and rescue
  • Fleet operations

Pilots shall operate within organised Squadrons and may be assigned specialist roles according to skill, experience and operational requirements.

The Squadrons shall provide the Initiative with mobility, reach and control beyond planetary environments.

## THE COMPANY

The Company shall form the primary armed ground force of The Albion Initiative.

Its personnel shall conduct operations on planets, stations, spacecraft and other environments where direct physical deployment is required.

The Company may be tasked with:

  • Tactical assault
  • Defensive operations
  • Close-quarters combat
  • Boarding and counter-boarding actions
  • Security operations
  • Facility defence
  • Personnel protection
  • Extraction and recovery operations

The Company shall operate with discipline and coordination, supporting the wider objectives of The Albion Initiative.

  1. ARTICLE III — UNITY OF COMMAND

While The Squadrons and The Company shall operate as distinct branches, neither shall exist independently of the wider organisation.

All branches serve the same mission.

Operational command shall coordinate aerospace and ground forces to ensure that Albion assets operate as a unified force whenever practical.

No branch shall consider itself superior to another.

The pilot and the ground operative serve different roles.

Both are essential.

One Initiative. One Command. One Mission.

  1. ARTICLE IV — MEMBERSHIP

Membership in The Albion Initiative shall be based upon willingness to contribute, learn and operate as part of a disciplined organisation.

Members are expected to:

  • Treat fellow members with respect.
  • Follow legitimate operational leadership.
  • Maintain a reasonable standard of professionalism.
  • Support the objectives of their assigned unit.
  • Avoid conduct that deliberately damages the reputation of the organisation.
  • Assist fellow members when practical and safe to do so.
  • Respect the chain of command during organised operations.

Skill may be developed.

Experience may be gained.

But loyalty, discipline and teamwork must come from the individual.

  1. ARTICLE V — THE CODE OF CONDUCT

All members of The Albion Initiative shall conduct themselves according to the following principles:

Act with integrity. Keep your word. Take responsibility for your actions.

### DISCIPLINE

Maintain control under pressure. Follow procedure when procedure matters. Do not allow ego to endanger the mission.

### LOYALTY

Support your fellow members and the organisation.

### PROFESSIONALISM

Represent The Albion Initiative with maturity and respect.

### COURAGE

Do not confuse courage with recklessness. Courage is acting when the mission demands it.

### ADAPTABILITY

The environment may change. The mission may change. Albion personnel must be prepared to change with it.

  1. ARTICLE VI — COMMAND AND RESPONSIBILITY

Authority within The Albion Initiative shall carry responsibility.

Leaders are expected to:

  • Protect the interests of their personnel.
  • Make decisions in the interest of the mission and organisation.
  • Maintain discipline without unnecessary hostility.
  • Encourage training and development.
  • Accept responsibility for their decisions.
  • Lead by example.

Rank shall not exist solely as a symbol of authority.

Rank represents responsibility.

Those who lead Albion personnel are expected to earn and maintain the trust placed in them.

  1. ARTICLE VII — THE ALBION CONTRACT

The Albion Initiative may operate on behalf of clients, allies or its own strategic interests.

However, the acceptance of any operation or contract shall not require Albion personnel to abandon the principles established within this Charter.

The Initiative reserves the right to refuse operations deemed contrary to its interests, destructive to its reputation or unnecessarily harmful to the organisation and its personnel.

Albion is a security and military organisation.

It is not a band of mercenaries without principle.

Our service may be contracted. Our loyalty cannot be purchased.

  1. ARTICLE VIII — BROTHERHOOD AND RECOVERY

The Initiative recognises the value of every member.

Whenever operationally practical, Albion personnel shall make reasonable efforts to recover, assist and support fellow members.

No member shall be expected to face unnecessary danger alone.

The loss of equipment may be accepted.

The loss of opportunity may be accepted.

But the unnecessary abandonment of personnel shall never become Albion policy.

We protect our own.

The insignia of The Albion Initiative represents the organisation’s identity and heritage.

The Lion represents courage and resolve.

The Sword represents readiness and the defence of those placed under our protection.

The Shield represents security and responsibility.

The Cross represents the Initiative’s heritage and founding origins.

The wings and star represent humanity’s expansion beyond its birthplace and into the stars.

These symbols shall be carried with respect by all members of the organisation.
