In the early days of deep-space mining, corporations and independent prospectors alike struggled against a growing wave of threats—pirate raids, claim jumpers, and hostile environments that made every expedition a gamble. Standard security firms either lacked the subtlety or the reach to protect the scattered and vulnerable mining crews that kept the ‘verse’s economy alive.
