Welcome to The IRF.
An international crew of beautifully bad decisions that is built on friendship, fueled by poor choices.
Fly together, watch each other’s backs, and never pretend this was the smart plan.

History

Born from the volatility of frontier space and the growing demand for flexible, independent response forces, this Task Force traces its origins to a loose coalition of veteran pilots, engineers, and marines drawn together through repeated service across UEE-aligned operations. Experience, not uniformity, forged its core.

As the Empire expanded and threats multiplied piracy, Vanduul incursions, and the instability of lawless systems, it became clear that adaptability often mattered more than rigid structure. Unbound to any single world, corporation, or fleet, the Task Force was formalized as a mobile naval command: autonomous by necessity, effective by design, and broadly aligned with UEE naval doctrine if not always its paperwork.

What began as a modest flotilla escorting trade convoys steadily evolved into a fully structured force, conducting patrols, search-and-rescue operations, deep-space expeditions, and combat deployments across the verse. Though methods may vary and decisions are sometimes… unconventional, the Task Force endures through camaraderie, shared experience, and an unshakable commitment to standing together when it matters most.

Manifesto

We are not mercenaries.

We are not pirates.

We are a disciplined naval force operating in the spirit of the United Empire of Earth.

We believe that order enables freedom, that strength protects the innocent, and that unity ensures survival beyond the safety of core systems. Every ship, every crew member, and every action reflects upon the Task Force as a whole.

We value:

  • Discipline over chaos
  • Competence over bravado
  • Loyalty over convenience
  • Service over personal glory

We operate with purpose. We act with restraint. We fight when required—and stand down when wisdom demands it.
