Tekkadan — Iron Flower Brigade began with two stubborn salvagers, little more than a Vulture, a grim sense of humor, and a talent for finding value where others saw only wreckage.

What began as late-night reclamation work and opportunistic hauling gradually became a doctrine: work efficiently, maximize every recovery, and never return with an empty hold when value remains behind.

The crew itself remained small. Eventually joined by the person they trusted most, the operation settled around three people who learned to rely on one another, divide responsibilities, and make the most of whatever equipment they had available.

That work eventually brought them their Reclaimer, Barbatos.

Barbatos changed everything.

The ship allowed three people who had spent years working small jobs to take on reclamation work at an entirely different scale. She became their home during long operations, their primary source of income, and the machine around which the crew learned what a serious industrial operation actually required.

Long before there was an Iron Flower Brigade, there was Barbatos and the three people keeping her running.

Early Years

The founders built their crew around efficiency and discipline rather than numbers.

Every run was treated like a contract: planned carefully, executed cleanly, and completed without unnecessary drama.

They developed reliable salvage routines, maintained strict repair and selling schedules, and learned how to extract the greatest possible value from difficult sites.

With only three people available, nobody could afford to specialize in a single task.

Piloting, salvage processing, cargo movement, repairs, logistics, selling, scouting, and security were handled by whoever needed to handle them.

That necessity became part of Tekkadan’s culture long before Tekkadan became an organization.

Know your job.

Know enough to help with someone else’s.

And never assume somebody else will solve the problem for you.

The crew earned a reputation for being small, stubborn, and dependable.

They were not the largest operation in the system.

They simply finished what they started.

The Acquisition

The Iron Flower Brigade did not begin because the founders decided they needed a larger name.

It began because they found something worth saving.

During the course of their work, the crew became aware of an industrial organization that had effectively ceased to exist.

The registration remained.

The assets remained.

The ships remained.

The people required to actually operate any of it did not.

Whatever the organization had once been, by the time the founders encountered it there was no meaningful command structure, no active workforce, and no future beyond the eventual sale or dispersal of what remained.

To most, it was a dead company surrounded by expensive problems.

To three salvagers, it looked familiar.

There was still value there.

The founders negotiated an acquisition of the organization and its surviving assets, taking responsibility for what remained rather than allowing the operation to disappear piece by piece.

The deal included industrial equipment, logistical infrastructure, and a handful of vessels that had once supported a much larger operation.

Among them was an RSI Orion.

The scale of what they had acquired was immediately obvious.

Three people could keep Barbatos alive.

Three people could not operate an industrial fleet.

They now owned ships that needed crews, equipment that needed maintenance, and an organization that existed on paper but had nobody left to give it purpose.

For the first time, the crew needed more than themselves.

They needed a Brigade.

The old organization’s identity was retired.

Its remaining assets were folded into something new.

Tekkadan — Iron Flower Brigade became official.

Growth and Diversification

The acquisition gave Tekkadan capability far beyond what its founding crew had previously possessed.

It did not give them the manpower to use it.

That distinction remains important.

Barbatos was earned before the Brigade existed and remains the personal Reclaimer of the original crew—the ship that carried them from small salvage work into serious industrial operations.

The vessels acquired with the organization represent something different.

They are the foundation of what Tekkadan can become.

Mining vessels, freight ships, support craft, and industrial equipment give the Brigade the ability to expand beyond salvage into resource extraction, transportation, engineering, and large-scale logistics.

At the center of that future sits the Orion.

Where Barbatos represents where Tekkadan came from, the Orion represents the scale of operation the Brigade is now preparing to support.

A ship of that size cannot function through determination alone.

It requires miners, engineers, haulers, escorts, support vessels, planners, and crews who understand that no industrial operation succeeds because of one person sitting in the largest chair.

The name Iron Flower Brigade came to represent that dual identity: hardened by difficult work, yet determined to build something lasting from what others abandoned.

That applies just as much to the organization itself as it does to the wreckage we recover.

Doctrine and Culture

TKIFB operates according to a few simple principles: clear communications, assigned responsibilities, disciplined operations, and no cruelty for entertainment.

We favor planning over chaos and teamwork over ego. Roles are established before deployment, equipment is checked, supplies are accounted for, and an exit route is always maintained.

Discipline does not mean stiffness.

TKIFB remains a relaxed crew during routine operations and outside of them. We joke, talk, teach, and enjoy the work together.

When timing matters, danger appears, or a difficult maneuver begins, the crew tightens up: comms clear, callouts stay concise, and assigned roles take priority until the situation is resolved.

The Brigade values preparedness and redundancy.

Repairs and resupply are handled before they become emergencies, replacement equipment is kept available, and crews train to protect themselves without seeking unnecessary conflict.

We do not harass independent operators, steal another crew’s discovery, or use superior numbers to intimidate those who were there first.

When entering an occupied work site, we communicate, offer cooperation or protection, and move elsewhere when our presence would disrupt another operation.

Combat is not our primary focus, but members may organize lawful combat operations such as escort work, bounty hunting, anti-piracy patrols, training, and defensive response.

Piracy, griefing, and attacks on uninvolved crews are prohibited.

Those who prey on us should expect resistance.

It may not come immediately; our first priority is getting our crews and cargo home safely.

Attackers are documented, reported, remembered, and remain classified as hostile.

Remember: Kind until given a reason not to be—but never cruel for entertainment.

Notable Operations

Salvage

Salvage remains the foundation on which Tekkadan was built.

The founding crew learned to clear reclamation sites others considered inefficient or unprofitable, recovering value through careful positioning, disciplined processing, and coordinated cargo handling.

Barbatos remains at the center of those operations.

She predates the Brigade itself and carries more of Tekkadan’s history than any registry entry ever could.

Mining

Mining represents one of the Brigade’s largest areas of future growth.

Smaller mining operations allow crews to develop procedures, train operators, and establish the logistical systems that will eventually be required for much larger extraction efforts.

The Orion is the long-term centerpiece of that effort.

Bringing her into full operation will require more than filling seats. It will require a network capable of keeping a major industrial vessel supplied, protected, unloaded, repaired, and productive.

That network is what we are building now.

Logistics

No industrial fleet survives without logistics.

The Brigade maintains repair, selling, transportation, and resupply procedures designed around the realities of operating with a small core crew.

As Tekkadan grows, those systems are intended to expand with it.

Freight crews, support pilots, engineers, and escorts are not secondary to the operation.

They are what make the operation possible.

Today

Tekkadan — Iron Flower Brigade currently exists in an unusual position.

We possess the foundations of an organization larger than the crew presently operating it.

At the center remain the original three people who worked together before the Brigade formally existed.

Barbatos remains their ship and the heart of Tekkadan’s salvage history.

Around that core now sits something much larger: an inherited industrial fleet, equipment waiting to be used, and ships whose potential exceeds what three people can reasonably accomplish alone.

We are not pretending otherwise.

The Brigade is not a massive organization with hundreds of active members and fully staffed ships waiting at every port.

We are a small crew holding the keys to something larger.

Now we are looking for the people who want to help us bring it to life.

Pilots.

Miners.

Salvagers.

Haulers.

Engineers.

Security crews.

Support personnel.

People willing to learn multiple jobs when necessary and specialists who want to become exceptionally good at one.

Where Our Name Comes From

The name Tekkadan — Iron Flower Brigade comes from an old piece of Earth fiction that meant something to our founder long before this organization ever took shape.

The story followed a group of young people trying to carve out a place for themselves in a hard universe, relying on the people beside them more than the systems around them.

That idea endured long after the story itself became a relic of old Earth culture.

We are not trying to recreate that story, and no member is expected to know it, watch it, or care where the reference began.

The name simply carried the right meaning for what we wanted to build here.

Out in the black, surrounded by industrial ships, mining equipment, salvage rigs, cargo decks, and crews making a living one job at a time, it felt even more appropriate.

Anyone who has stood beneath a Reclaimer can probably understand why.

It looks less like a ship and more like some ancient mechanical war machine that traded its weapons for salvage claws and went to work.

So the name stayed.

Not because we are trying to become someone else’s story.

Because out here, we are writing our own.

Looking Forward

The Brigade intends to grow deliberately.

Our immediate goal is not expansion for the sake of expansion.

It is activation.

We already possess more capability than our current crew can properly use.

The next stage of Tekkadan’s history will be defined by bringing those ships back into regular service, building dependable crews around them, and creating the logistical network required to keep everything moving.

Our future includes vetted pilots, dedicated freight crews, mining leads, salvage operators, engineers, defensive specialists, and the support personnel necessary to tie all of them together.

Growth will never be pursued merely for the sake of numbers.

A hundred names on a roster mean nothing if nobody can depend on the person beside them.

Those who join now are joining at the point where the Brigade is becoming what it was created to be.

There are ships without crews.

There are roles without names.

There are operations that cannot happen until the right people step aboard.

TKIFB is about building a dependable network that works cleanly, pays fairly, protects its people, and leaves nothing valuable behind.

Those who join us should expect clear callouts, organized operations, fair treatment, and a shared commitment to completing the job properly.

We are not interested in being the loudest organization in the system.

We are efficient.
We are stubborn.
We take care of our own.
