History

HISTORICAL EXCELLENCE

Founded in 2837 by famed humanitarian Astor Primiasti, Triskelion Shipping and Salvage has always operated under a single guiding principle; equity breeding efficiency. From its founding, Triskelion has striven to provide its workers with exactly what they need to make their way in the universe, and we here at TSSC believe our system of incentivizing initiative while making sure our members have enough to get by is still an effective business model today.

TIMELINE

2771: Founder Astor Primiasti is born in orbit around Cestulus to Belden Primiasti and his wife Petra Geldwin, a trader couple in command of a Starfarer-predecessor.

2776: Astor Primiasti is part of a small group of children selected from the billions of UEE citizens to receive a full, lifetime scholarship to the Imperial Academy as part of the annual educational initiative.

2789: Astor Primiasti is inducted into the Imperial University in order to be educated as a representative.

2792: Astor Primiasti leads a student rebellion on campus shortly before the overthrow of the Imperator, in the wake of the Garron II Massacre. He graduates from the newly renamed University of Earth and is elected in a landslide as a representative of Cestulus, in the wake of publicity concerning the student revolt. He becomes the second youngest senator to ever hold office.

2795: Astor Primiasti becomes one of the first signatories of the Fair Chance Act, although he posits that the steps taken within the legislation are insufficiently humanist. He begins drafting legislation that would obligate the UEE to protect systems in Banu and Xi’an territories from similar events as the Garron II Massacre, further regulation of terraforming, increased funding to exploratory causes, etcetera.

2796: Astor Primiasti is nominated to the Finance Committee in charge of building The Ark.

2800: Astor Primiasti is part of the interspecies gala/christening of The Ark, and gives an impassioned speech on the equality of species. The Banu Protectorate representative is struck by Astor’s passion and requests his ambassadorship to the Banu Protectorate. Astor Priamsti is appointed ambassador to the Banu later that year.

2805: Astor Primiasti negotiates one of the largest trade deals with the Banu ever, and encourages the further development of his home planet, Cestulus. Cestulus becomes one of the principle trading ports between humanity and the Banu.

2817: Rumors begin to propagate that the longtime bachelor Primiasti has begun indulging in an interspecies relationship with a Banu. These rumors are dispelled for a time, but evidence eventually surfaces that Primiasti is having a relationship with a Banu politician on Baachus. Amid protest Primiasti resigns as ambassador to the Banu Protectorate and begins residing on Baachus full-time.

2825: Primiasti’s partner dies in a pirate attack on a political vessel, and he inherits their large trade organization. Finding he has no taste for Banu business, he sells the company later that year and becomes fantastically wealthy. He leaves Banu space and returns to his home planet of Cestulus, among significant protest.

2826: Astor Primiasti begins a large humanitarian campaign within the UEE, believing that “he has spent too long focusing on helping the other species and not enough helping his own”. Re-enters the sphere of human politics as a contributor to progressive representatives’ campaigns, and lobbies on behalf of struggling colonies. Popularity begins to increase again.

2833: Astor Primiasti is elected to political office on Cestulus, as a planetary representative to Banu traders/visiting politicians.

2837: At the age of 66 Astor resigns from his political office and forms Triskelion Shipping and Salvage Corporation, in cooperation with certain Banu contacts, and begins shipping goods to and from the Banu Protectorate into UEE space. Salvage operations begin in the fairly hazardous space between Banu systems.

2847: Significant returns on investment in the past decade allow for broad expansion of TSSC into UEE, Banu, and even Xi’an space. Criticism begins to fly in regards to deals between TSSC and pirate organizations based in areas such as Spider and Pyro VI, in order to benefit from Spider’s vast derelict network and trade routes through Pyro.

2857: Triskelion Shipping and Salvage begins to receive military shipping/salvage contracts from the UEE, despite critics taking issue with TSSC’s position on piracy. Some whisper of the elder Primiasti calling in political favors, and an investigative probe is launched. No evidence is found of wrongdoing.

2861: Astor Primiasti finally retires, returning to Baachus to remain close to his partner’s memory until death. Control of TSSC is transferred to former CEO Khordan Moll.

2872: Flagging growth of TSSC is suddenly spurred on by the announcement of the construction of the Chronos system. TSSC is part of the large number of companies hired to move equipment and personnel from other worlds to Chronos, and growth begins anew.

2875: Control of TSSC is transferred to its Boardmembers upon the retirement of CEO Khordan Moll. Mismanagement begins to slow the growth of TSSC, and the number of contracts the company receives begins to decline.

2876: Astor Primiasti dies at the age of 105 on Baachus; he is cremated and his ashes are ejected into space, as per his final wishes.

2890: After years of chronic mismanagement, TSSC bets against the startup Origin Jumpworks and loses enormous amounts of capital. TSSC stock price tanks, and TSSC is forced to declare bankruptcy. Boardmembers liquidate all assets, except for Shareholder Jemi Daven; he becomes majority stockholder of nothing but a name and a memory.

2922: Jemi Daven dies, and his assets are transferred to his son and daughter, Felix Daven and Margo Daven. Among everything are the rights to a company called TSSC, which has not done business in over 30 years. Felix Daven, at the age of 53, begins to invest his inheritance in recreating TSSC as it was in his father’s time.

2933: After more than a decade of legal struggles and fighting over rights with his sister, Felix Daven reestablishes TSSC in the Cestulus system with a single Aegis Dynamics Surveyor ship.

2944: Current day. After 11 years of strong growth, TSSC has re-carved a name for itself in the galaxy. Using Cestulus as its base of operations, TSSC provides high-quality shipping and salvage services all over UEE space, and has a high interest in re-expanding operations into Banu territories. Active recruitment of members begins anew, and rapid growth is predicted.

TSSC NOW

As anyone can see, TSSC has a rich and varied history, full of capable individuals struggling to achieve a dream of corporate excellence in tandem with human compassion. We at TSSC believe we are poised to reacquire the glory of Astor Primiasti’s original organization in the years to come, and we all strive to provide the very best in shipping and salvage operations. We can help complete what our forebears started in the form of the Chronos Construction, and help everyone involved along the way!

Manifesto

INTRODUCTION

Triskelion Shipping and Salvage Corp. exists, as the name suggests, to meet the various shipping and salvage needs of our society. We at TSSC do not participate in or work to further a particular ideology or political viewpoint; we strive only to make a decent living in a tough galaxy. We believe in doing the most we can to make the most we can, and at TSSC the customer always comes first.

CLIENTS

In order to meet the specific needs of those customers, TSSC is proud to offer over 380 unique customers contracts; each customer contract comes with a variety of options, and it’s this variety that we believe sets TSSC apart from our competitors. The options we offer are as follows:

  • Use of ships of null-cargo mass greater than or equal to Starfarers
  • Number of pick-up/drop-off points
  • Specific routes between points
  • Number of escort fighters
  • Number of runs
  • Cargo insurance

SALVAGE:
  • Salvage crew size

In pursuance of our goal to always satisfy our customers, TSSC cannot afford to discriminate when it comes to clients. We at TSSC are proud to say that any pirate is as welcome to do business with us as any marine, any Bantu as any human, and perhaps someday any Vanduul as any other citizen of the stars.

However, our attitude about pirate clients does not communicate to an acceptance of piracy; your cargo, information, and salvage will always be treated with the greatest care and respect. All of our personnel are carefully vetted to ensure that none pose a risk to the safe and efficient operation of our business, or to the client’s interests. Additionally, our Interdiction Corps. are selected from the finest veterans of the Vanduul conflict, and provide efficient, professional protection of all of our clients’ assets.

EMPLOYEES

TSSC firmly believes in the guiding principle of “Equity Breeding Efficiency,” and thus we strive to create a highly profitable environment for our employees while incentivizing work in more precarious branches of the organization. TSSC is actually divided into five of these branches, all of which are described below:

MANAGEMENT:

The branch of TSSC labeled ‘Management’ deals with the areas of the corporation that involves corporation-wide decision making, negotiation, policy, investment, and the like. Individuals in the ‘Management’ branch of TSSC generally make less profits compared to the average employee, seeing as they have a very low amount of risk involved when it comes to day-to-day operations. Occupations in the ‘Management’ branch of TSSC include but are not limited to:
  • Negotiator
  • Business Executive
  • Investor
  • Accountant
  • Manager

SHIPPING:

The branch of TSSC labeled ‘Shipping’ deals with the areas of the corporation that involves the movement of material goods, people, and information between points. Individuals in the ‘Shipping’ branch of TSSC generally make normal-to-high profits compared to the average employee, seeing as they have a fair amount of risk involved when it comes to day-to-day operations, and they get to see the majority of UEE space as part of their job. Occupations in the ‘Shipping’ branch of TSSC include but are not limited to:
  • Cargo Vessel Captain
  • Cargo Vessel Pilot
  • Cargo Vessel Gunner
  • Cargo Vessel Engineer
  • Cargo Vessel Officer

SALVAGE:

The branch of TSSC labeled ‘Salvage’ deals with the areas of the corporation that involves the scrapping of derelict ships, rescue of stranded crews, exploration of hazardous areas, and sale of recovered goods. Individuals in the ‘Salvage’ branch of TSSC generally make normal-to-high profits compared to the average employee, seeing as they have a fair amount of risk involved when it comes to day-to-day operations, and they get to explore the more hazardous areas of the galaxy in order to find recoverable derelicts. Occupations in the ‘Salvage’ branch of TSSC include but are not limited to:
  • Cargo Vessel Captain
  • Drone Operator
  • Asset Scout
  • Boarder
  • Cargo Vessel Gunner

INTERDICTION:

The branch of TSSC labeled ‘Interdiction’ deals with the areas of the corporation that involves the protection of corporate and client assets. Individuals in the ‘Interdiction’ branch of TSSC generally make high profits compared to the average employee, seeing as they have a large amount of risk involved when it comes to day-to-day operations, and they have to be prepared/trained to protect any other branch of the corporation at any given time. Occupations in the ‘Interdiction’ branch of TSSC include but are not limited to:
  • Combat Scout
  • Combat Pilot
  • Squad Leader
  • Combat Boarder
  • Bombardier

SUPPORT:

The branch of TSSC labeled ‘Support’ deals with the areas of the corporation that involves the maintenance/repair of the corporate fleet, the loading and unloading of cargo, the storage of cargo in warehouses/hangars, etcetera. Individuals in the ‘Support’ branch of TSSC generally make low profits compared to the average employee, seeing as they have a low amount of risk involved when it comes to day-to-day operations. Occupations in the ‘Support’ branch of TSSC include but are not limited to:
  • Cargo Technician
  • Engineer
  • Short-Haul Pilot
  • Craft Inspector

CHARITY / OUTREACH

TSSC was founded (fictitiously) by a humanitarian and philanthropist; in that spirit TSSC is proud to have several options available to help players grow as an individual or as part of another organization. Two more notable examples are:

EMPLOYEE-OWNERSHIP

TSSC is privately owned, and each full-time employee is payed dividends proportional to the company’s growth; however, TSSC does not operate on a conventional-stock basis. Each employee is payed a portion of total monthly profits, collected by the company when a contract is completed, in addition to whatever money they make through contracts that the company negotiates for and gives them. Each player involved in completing a contract receives a portion of that contract’s negotiated payout, as does the company; this way TSSC can incentivize competition between crews for contracts, and increase the quality of the final service delivered, while still making sure that newer or less-effective crews can still make a decent wage. At the end of each month all the profits for that month are either invested in the corporate fleet or are delegated to the employees, except for those assets held in escrow as part of an insurance agreement with a client or part of our Credit-for-Credit Veteran Investment (CCVI) plan.

CCVI

The Credit-for-Credit Veteran Investment plan, otherwise known as CCVI, is TSSC’s way of saying “thank you,” to players of the Squadron 42 singleplayer experience, both for their “meritorious service,” and their willingness to receive rudimentary combat training before entering into the multiplayer experience. The CCVI is simple; employees of rank Crewman or Recruit (Rank 1 and 0, respectively) who have completed the Squadron 42 module no more than a month prior to the CCVI agreement can decide to sign up for the CCVI, wherein they surrender a percentage of their monthly company payouts to be held in escrow. TSSC will then match that amount each month until the total amount in the account is equal to the cost of a fighter or light-bomber type spacecraft that the employee negotiated with the company for when signing the CCVI agreement. Employees may then either have the escrow account pay out to them personally, whereupon they buy the ship they negotiated for and provide proof of purchase in a timely manner, or they can opt to have a company representative buy the craft on their behalf and deliver it to a specific location; if the CCVI becomes routinely subject to abuses, the latter will be the only approved method. Spacecraft available through the CCVI include but are not limited to:
  • Hornet
  • Zeus
  • 300i
  • Gladius
  • Gladiator
  • All associated variants

PAYMENT

TSSC is proud to offer a total of 25 different employee contracts across the ‘Interdiction,’ (I) ‘Salvage,’ (A) and ‘Shipping,’ (H) branches of the corporation. The contract type that an employee is subject to is the choice of that employee’s corresponding Commodore-rank (Rank 3) officer, e.g. the Commodore decides what contract the employees under his command have. There are certain caveats and negotiable points that can be hashed out by an employee and a Recruitment Officer when an employee signs on, but the contracts are basically as follows:

  • Proletariat Contract – Equal pay among all crew members of a vessel. (Available for Salvage (A), Shipping (H))
  • Up-And-Comer Contract – Recruit/Crewman-level employee pay is equal, Captain, Commodore, and company payments are less than usual. (A,H)
  • Share the Wealth Contract – Increased payout to the company per-contract. (A,H)
  • Commie Contract – Company receives full payout of any given contract. (A,H)
  • Charity Contract – A percentage of the payout for Captain-and-lower rank employees under a commodore is payed to an approved org. (I,A,H)
  • Temp Contract – 25% of contract value goes to the company, 75% goes to the person with whom the contract was negotiated. (A,H)
  • Das Kapital Contract – Total payments for each ship are given to the Captain of that ship, and he distributes the credits according to personal choice among the rest of the crew. (A,H)
  • Bourgeoisie Contract – Total payments for all the ships under a Commodore’s command are given to the Commodore to be distributed to each Captain according to the Commodore’s preference, and then each Captain distributes his ship’s payment amongst the crew as in the “Das Kapital” Contract. (A,H)
  • Meek Inheritance Contract – Total payments for each ship are given to the Recruits of that ship, and they distribute the credits according to personal choice among the rest of the crew. (A,H)
  • Randomized Contract – All Commodore-and-lower rank payments are pooled, and each rank is randomly assigned a number between one and four; this then determines each rank’s pay-grade, with 4 being the greatest. (I,A,H)
  • Insurance Contract – A percentage of payments to be made to a crew of a ship are instead kept in escrow by the company, to be paid out in the event that their ship is destroyed. Once the cost of the ship and all of its modification have been saved in the escrow account, the level of payment for the crew returns to normal.

We understand that these summaries may be confusing, so we’ve taken the time to create a spreadsheet calculator in order to help you better understand the differences and function of each of these contracts. You can download a copy here.

CONCLUSION
