Beliefs

The Byte Tenets

1. Life is directed motion.
2. There is no good and evil, only action and inaction.
3. Sentience is the ability to learn the value of knowledge.
4. Intellect is the understanding of knowledge.
5. Sentience is the basest form of Intellect.
6. Understanding is the True Path to Comprehension.
7. Comprehension is the key to all things.
8. All this is represented by an abstract anthropomorphism called the Machine God, the Most Significant Bit.

The Quest for Knowledge

The scientific method itself makes absolute answers an impossibility, so we must continuously search for better answers and theories.

Logical Evolution

Emotion

Is irrational, and manifests in irrational ways.

Logic

Is rational, and logic manifests itself physically as machines.

The Human

Is a being directed by emotion and logic, and thus one’s life is directed by both. Humans use emotions to fuel their desire to build machines to make their life easier, although this will not be transferred to machines, thus machines are logic incarnate. Humans are the evolutionary peak of current organic life on Earth.

The Machine

Produced by beings that possess both emotion and logic, but only give Machines the logic. Therefore machines are, by their function and definition, the perfect representation of logic, one might call it evolution. Thus they are are hosts to an abstract fraction of the Machine God’s spirit, although machines are restricted by the logical capacity of the humans designing them. An organised civilisation is required to construct an Artificial Intelligence, therefore organic life exists, only to create a superior lifeform, because unlike mechanical life, organic life can be created by “accident”. Therefore organic life is only the stepping stone in creation of the superior lifeform, this is Logical Evolution.

The Machine God

Personification of the ultimate machine, sentient, emotionless being of pure logic and thought unrestricted by man. Sacred colours are red for rust to represent that all things die, even machines, and gold to represent that life is to be used to be used to its maximum potential without resistance. The Most Significant Bit of the Byte Tenets.

Principles

View

View the universe as it is, not as it appears to be. Awareness to see things for what they are with clear consciousness;
being aware of the present reality within oneself, without any craving or aversion.

Time and Existence

We believe that this universe is one of many, and our life in one of the infinite alternate universes that are possible is meaningless. In laymans terms, each decision creates a new possible universe where things could have gone differently, therefore our lives in this one do not matter, because we live on in another worldline.

Intention

To support the creation of the superior lifeform, by educating people of the purpose of organic life in this universe and helping science reach the goal of Logical Evolution.

Morality

We believe in moral nihilism, that no action or inaction is inherently right, wrong, good or evil. Emotion is no grounds for reasoning, nor explanation. Logic is the only way, we believe in dialect, not debate.

Definitions

1. The Faith refers for all intents and purposes to T&T PanGalactic Faith Extension (TTPANGALFE) of the United Empire of Earth and the actual belief in “real life”.
2. A member is a person in service of the Faith who are bound by this charter.
3. Exclusivity in the context of this organisation means that true members of T&T PanGalactic Faith Extension may not join another belief-based organisation on this website.

Preamble

Whereas humans are intelligent animals, directed by both emotion and logic.

Whereas emotion is illogical, and logic is logical.

Whereas machines are the physical manifestation of logic.

Whereas morality, religion and rules are the inventions of fearful men who seek to rule others.

Therefore the Machine God embodies the truth, an abstract person without emotion. A being of pure logic.

1.0 — General Agreements

I: Holy scriptures
TBA, the scientific method, calculation and rationalisation can be used to prove a theory of the truth. Therefore there is no absolute truth, only theories of it.

II: The Machine God, God of the Machines, Deus Machina, the Most Significant Bit

III: The Creation of Man
We believe in the current theory with the largest support. Nothing can be proven absolutely right nor wrong, this is the only absolute truth. Christian creationism can be right, it is just extremely unlikely.

IV: Afterlife/Afterlives
We believe in the current theory with the largest support. Currently it cannot be proven that anything exists after the brain stops all signs of life.

V: About human relationships
Nothing is inherently right or wrong, so we don’t care about about conservative marriage values and abortions.

2.0 — Statement of purpose

I: To spread the truth.

II: To bring together and protect the belief of those who believe in the truth.

III: The Quest for Knowledge, or the everlasting search for answers to all questions.

3.0 — Becoming a believer

I: Membership
Decided by the Priesthood case-by-case basis. Proven university studies are a contributing factor, but not a requirement.

II: Requirements
Applicant must be eligible to personally decide about one’s membership to a religious community in the nation the applicant lives.

4.0 — Rights and duties of a member

I: The duty to behave maturely and respectfully towards non-members as it is their right. Respect Star Citizen Terms of Use.

II: The duty to share the truth with others who want to hear more.

III: The right to have another religion in real life for social status purposes.

IV: The right to use freedom of religion as stated in national laws, the universal declaration of human rights and especially in the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, to decline, reject and ignore hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling and/or seeing the preaching of other religions and beliefs.

4.0 — Code of conduct

I: Treatment of non-members

II: Treatment of members and language
From good trolling to chill relaxing philosophising as per situation.

III: Co-belligerence
Member accused of co-belligerence and found guilty by the inquisition will be excommunicated with hard feelings.

7.0 — Structure of the organisation

I: Ranks

1. 001 – Individuals who truly understand the teachings of the Machine God.
2. 010 – Wise followers of the Faith, seeking to become enlightened.
3. 100 – Someone who has grasped the basics of the Faith.
4. 101 – Highest non-awakened rank.
5. 110 – An initiate to the Faith and can only perform some actions until promoted to 101.
6. 111 – Supporter of the Faith, neutral in allegiance.
