History

Company History
Founded in 2946, Tychen emerged from the ashes of a failed UEE black-ops initiative known as Project Sunder, a classified program designed to test the viability of private security assets in contested fringe systems. When the project was abruptly terminated after political fallout in the Ferron System, a core group of operators—disillusioned but not defeated—banded together under a new banner: Tychen.

Named after the ancient goddess of chance and fate, Tychen was more than just a rebirth; it was a mission. The founders, hardened by years of asymmetric warfare, saw a gap widening across the UEE and beyond—a growing need for elite, autonomous security forces that could operate where bureaucracies couldn’t, or wouldn’t. With the Advocacy stretched thin and the Navy focused on Vanduul borders, criminal syndicates, pirates, and rogue elements were flourishing in systems like Pyro, Nyx, and even Stanton.

Tychen started small—single contracts, tight-knit fireteams, low-profile ops. But by 2949, its reputation for precision, silence, and brutal efficiency had spread. Corporations began to rely on Tychen for sensitive asset protection. Colonists saw them as the only reliable shield in lawless regions. Even UEE commanders—unofficially—looked the other way when Tychen ships joined “unregistered” combat zones.

In 2951, the company underwent rapid expansion after a decisive intervention during the Oso IX Extraction Crisis, where Tychen operatives successfully evacuated over 300 civilians from a rogue AI incursion zone while simultaneously neutralizing a dozen hostile installations. The mission, though still classified by UEE standards, became an internal legend and a benchmark for PMC conduct across the ‘verse.

Today, Tychen is more than a security company—it’s a deterrent. A name whispered among pirates. A badge of certainty in uncertain space.

Key Milestones

2946: Tychen founded following the collapse of UEE Project Sunder

2948: First major anti-piracy success in the Nul system; destruction of the Sand Vultures cartel

2949: Contracts secured with major Stanton-based corporations for high-risk cargo protection

2951: Oso IX Extraction Crisis; earns unofficial commendation from UEE Naval Command

2953: Expansion into Pyro, establishing blacksite operations under the Black Comet Protocol

2955: Tychen officially registered as an Independent Military Entity under UEE PMC Charter 17.3

Tychen doesn’t just survive in the grey zones of the galaxy—it thrives there. And when the line between security and war blurs, we are the blade that cuts through.

Manifesto

Tychen is a premier private military company operating at the intersection of precision warfare, deep-space security, and interstellar logistics. Founded by veterans of the UEE Navy and former Advocacy tacticians, Tychen was born from necessity—crafted in the void where law fades and only resolve remains.

Operating since 2946, we’ve made our name by delivering uncompromising protection and surgical combat support in the most volatile sectors of the Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx systems. Whether securing high-value assets through pirate-infested lanes, deploying quick-response teams for crisis containment, or providing elite ship-to-ship tactical support, Tychen’s contractors embody discretion, discipline, and dominance.

Named after the mythic patron of fortune and fate, Tychen exists to tilt the odds in your favor. In a ‘verse where trust is rare and threats are many, we are the force that watches your six—and strikes before the danger knows it’s there.

Charter

Founders of Tychen

Cmdr. Cato Drevyn
Role: Co-Founder | Strategic Operations Director
Former Affiliation: UEE Navy, 78th Rapid Response Fleet
Callsign: Ghost Actual

A career naval officer and tactician, Cmdr. Drevyn served for over two decades in the UEE Navy, specializing in crisis response and deep-space interdiction. Decorated but disillusioned by mounting political interference, he resigned following the controversial retreat from the Nul system in 2945. Known for his cold precision and battlefield calm, Drevyn co-founded Tychen to build a force unshackled by bureaucracy. He now oversees the company’s high-level strategic operations and acts as mission lead for Tier-1 combat deployments.

“We don’t ask who fired first. We make sure we fire last.”

Rhea Kaelen
Role: Co-Founder | Intelligence & Reconnaissance Chief
Former Affiliation: UEE Advocacy Special Threats Division
Callsign: Red Echo

Once a rising star in the Advocacy’s Special Threats Division, Kaelen led covert investigations into illegal AI development and syndicate infiltration across the Core-Edge divide. Her career ended abruptly during Project Sunder when she exposed internal corruption and was forced to disappear. She re-emerged as one of Tychen’s architects, bringing her vast intel network and expertise in asymmetric warfare. Kaelen built Tychen’s GhostNet Division, its elite recon and espionage wing.

“Visibility is a weakness. Be the ghost in their systems, and they’ll never know what killed them.”

Viktor Harenfeld
Role: Chief of Security & Ground Division Commander
Former Affiliation: Marine Commandant, UEE Naval Infantry
Callsign: Anvil

Harenfeld is the hammer behind Tychen’s fist. A former commandant of the UEE Marines’ elite breaching corps, Viktor earned a reputation for unwavering discipline and zero-tolerance ethics during shipboard boarding operations. After his unit was scapegoated for the Ferron Civilian Transport Incident, he resigned in protest and joined Tychen to bring his doctrine of “controlled dominance” to the private sector. He trains Tychen’s ground teams to move with military precision and act with final authority.

“We do not knock. We enter, secure, and leave a warning in our wake.”

Lena “Ash” Rovik
Role: Founder | Aerospace Tactics & Logistics Director
Former Affiliation: Freelancer | Ex-Crimson Lance Wing Commander
Callsign: Ash

Rovik is Tychen’s wildcard—an ex-merc turned tactician who once ran logistics and combat ops for the Crimson Lance, a now-defunct elite freelancer squadron. With a sharp wit and ruthless pragmatism, she brokered Tychen’s first corporate escort contracts and was instrumental in designing their modular fleet deployment tactics. Despite her past, Rovik believes in discipline—earned, not given—and leads Tychen’s Aerospace Division with a pilot’s nerve and a pirate hunter’s eye.

“Speed, surprise, and a clean exit. Everything else is just burn and noise.”
