It all started with a wrecking yard on old Earth, surrounded by the old husks of personal transports; my Gran Pappy would tell me stories of the stars and the adventures he once had. His dream lives on through VSM. Join us if you have stars in your eyes and find joy in doing an honest day’s work.

History

Like my Gran Pappy, VSM has taken to the stars and has now operated in the void for almost a decade. We are now expanding our organization by recruiting other like-minded folk to band together and grow our strength as we grow our numbers.

Manifesto

Hard work, grit, and determination. The Verse is a dangerous and unforgiving place where only those that are careful and prepared survive. Not only are members expected to be examples of Honor and Integrity, but also Brave and Intrepid. We are not only salvagers and miners, but warriors at heart who have chosen a career of peace. The very nature of our work implies risk and danger, and so, when pressed, we are prepared to defend our rights and our goals with all the weapons at our disposal. It is the last option, but one we eagerly take.

Charter

Area of Operations
Members will only have access to Organizational benefits while conducting operations in the Stanton system. If members conduct operations in other systems, they are on their own. A review of the designated Area of Operations will be conducted periodically and updated according to changes and trends in the Verse. Our ultimate goal is to designate the entire Verse as valid for official operations, however, at this time, we are limiting operations to Stanton.

Daily Operations
The five main pillars below outline the daily activities of all members. Any other activities you do in the Verse that are not part of these five pillars, you do without the sanction or backing of the Organization. The destruction of Organization equipment outside of the five pillars will be the responsibility of the members involved in its destruction.

  • Salvaging – Members can pick their own salvage operations within the Area of Operations. At present, members are free to sell any materials they obtain from salvage operations as they see fit. In the future, proceeds from salvage operations may be directed toward Organizational Special Projects.
  • Mining – Members can pick their own mining operations within the Area of Operations. At present, members are free to sell or refine any materials they obtain from mining operations as they see fit. In the future, proceeds from mining operations may be directed toward Organizational Special Projects.
  • Transport – Members can pick their own Cargo operations within the Area of Operations. At present, members are free to run Cargo as they see fit and use the proceeds for their own goals. In the future, proceeds from Cargo operations may be directed toward Organizational Special Projects.
  • Refining – At present, members can refine their own materials or refine materials for others as they see fit. In the future, proceeds from Refining operations may be directed toward Organizational Special Projects.
  • Operation Defense – Members are welcome to provide defense to other members pro bono but are authorized to charge other members up to a 5% fee of all profits obtained from the operation that requires defense. The max fee limit will be reviewed periodically and adjusted to account for market rates or special conditions.
