History
The History of the Voidwalkers
The Voidwalkers are a shadowy and enigmatic faction within the Star Citizen universe, with origins steeped in mystery and whispered legends. They are a loosely connected network of pilots, explorers, and mercenaries who traverse the darkest reaches of space, seeking fortune, knowledge, and sometimes revenge. Here’s their history as it unfolded in the depths of the ‘Verse:
Origins: The Forgotten Expeditions
The Voidwalkers trace their lineage to the 27th century, during the height of humanity’s expansion into the unknown reaches of the Stanton system and beyond. A deep-space exploration mission, known only by its codename Project Abyss, sought to chart the uncharted voids between jump points, searching for valuable resources and habitable worlds.
Tragedy struck when one of the expeditions disappeared without a trace in an uncharted nebula. Official records claimed the crew was lost to a catastrophic jump drive malfunction, but survivors later surfaced with chilling accounts of alien encounters, pirate ambushes, and betrayal by corporate sponsors. These survivors, bitter and disillusioned, banded together and swore to navigate the void on their own terms, free from the control of megacorporations and the UEE bureaucracy.
They called themselves the Voidwalkers, named for their uncanny ability to survive in the most inhospitable corners of the galaxy.
Early Days: Scavengers and Survivalists
In their early years, the Voidwalkers operated as scavengers and survivalists, relying on salvaged technology, hidden jump points, and cunning tactics to outmaneuver their adversaries. The Ghost Fleet
During the Vanduul Wars in the 29th century, rumors spread of a “Ghost Fleet” striking behind enemy lines and scavenging valuable technology from the wreckage of UEE and Vanduul battles alike. This fleet, composed of heavily modified ships and helmed by pilots who seemed to appear and vanish like specters, was later confirmed to be the Voidwalkers.
The Ghost Fleet became a symbol of hope for some and fear for others. They were known to assist stranded UEE forces on occasion, but they also sold scavenged Vanduul technology to independent factions and criminal syndicates. For the Voidwalkers, loyalty to a single faction was secondary to their mission of survival and independence.
Code of the Void

They use heavily customized ships, often painted in dark, matte tones to blend with the blackness of space, and employ advanced stealth technology scavenged from countless raids and discoveries.
The Voidwalkers are courted by powerful syndicates, independent governments, and rogue explorers alike. They are sought for their knowledge of hidden jump points, ancient alien ruins, and their uncanny ability to survive where others fail.
In the Stanton system, whispers of Voidwalker activity abound. Some say they have hidden bases deep within the asteroid fields of Pyro or among the gas clouds of Crusader. Others claim they are actively working to uncover secrets buried in the ruins of alien civilizations, hoping to gain an edge in a galaxy ruled by greed and corruption.
Symbolism and Identity
The Voidwalkers’ emblem is a shattered star encircled by a dark, featureless ring—symbolizing both their rejection of established power structures and their mastery of the void. Their motto, often scrawled in graffiti on abandoned outposts, reads: “We walk where others fear to tread.”

Phantom Captain: Leader of a Voidwalker fleet.

Specter: Core combat elite specialist who execute high-risk missions requiring precision, stealth, and advanced combat skills.
Reaper: Core combatants and mission specialists who form the backbone of Voidwalker forces..
Initiate: Recruits undergoing training and evaluation to become full members of the Voidwalkers.
Leadership: Leadership roles are earned based on skill, loyalty, and contributions to the mission. No member is above reproach, and all are subject to the Code of the Void.
