Ystradgynlais, set in the rocky valleys of Wales has a proud tradition of mining the mountains for precious fossil fuels. These fuels once powered the industrial might of the British Empire. It was during these humble times long ago 2 friends stumbled upon a vast amount of rare Welsh gold. Not letting their greed take hold of them, the two formed the Ystradgynlais Mining Guild using borrowed money to purchase the land they set about working long hours carefully extracting the gold from its earthly womb, honing their craft and thoroughly deserving of the title, Master Miner. The company has flourished for generations under the watchful eye of the original founders families. Until one fateful day where Clarence Creed an ambitious nephew decided the company could earn more and do more, he had heard of the undiscovered ore lurking in the depths of space its high value and unique properties and wished to diversify to earn more money and to become more powerful. With mankind’s ever expanding quest into the dark abyss there is a demand for weaponry as war rages across unclaimed territory. Clarence put his plan into motion exposing the board of directors money laundering activities (all arranged by Clarence of course leaving 3 men and 4 women die in prison for crimes they did not commit), and with a large armed force behind him claimed the CEO position for himself. Now the Ystrad Mining Corporation mines and refines large bulk ore from planets and asteroids for commercial sale. It also invests heavily in weapon research and development along with current weapon production. These weapons are sold to whoever has enough money and any warmonger who wants to arm his forces. Clarence may be long gone devoured by time itself however his beliefs and vision for the company continue in the hands of brand new board members.
