The pitambu is a leafy plant that produces fruits of the same name. Originally cultivated on Reisse (Rhetor III), United Empire of Earth (UEE), the pitambu can be grown in a wide variety of environments and is often found in the wild. Its leaves grow in an elliptical pattern from its stem, and the fruit has waxy, bright orange-red skin that covers bright red flesh with a mild, nutty taste. When it blooms, the flower it produces can be eaten or steeped as a tea that eases stomach pain.
