The 999th Test Squadron (Squadron 999, "the Wreckless") is a special unit of the United Empire of Earth(UEE) Navy dedicated to the evaluation of new and experimental spacecraft and vehicles. Originally formed to assist Roberts Space Industries (RSI) with testing the Zeus short-range spacecraft, the 999th was founded by Amecanio Navy test pilot Michelle Saleno, the first Human to quantum travel beyond the orbit of Jupiter (Sol V). With the 999th's help, RSI overhauled the Zeus' design and released it in SEY 2140. When the United Nations of Earth (UNE) came into existence in 2380, the 999th was officially incorporated into the new military structure with their 999th designation intact.
