Pluto (Sol XI) is a dwarf planet and one of the farthest celestial bodies from the sun of the Sol system, United Empire of Earth (UEE). Not the most distant object, it is included as an honorary ninth planet in star charts due to its relative proximity to the Croshaw-Sol jump point. After Humans first discovered jump points, interest in Pluto skyrocketed and countless permanent, sealed settlements, shops, and research stations were erected there despite its frigid climate. This gave Pluto enough population and economic importance that it was one of the earliest planets to be recognized by the United Nations of Earth (UNE) Senate after its formation in SEY 2380.
