Marok

The marok is a large, omnivorous bird that is indigenous to Branaugh II. An aquatic animal, it lives the majority of its life in and around rivers, lakes, seas, and other bodies of water. It hunts by diving to catch fish with its long, hooked beak. Corporations purposely introduce genetically modified marok to the environments of terraformed worlds to fill ecological niches. This has led to the creation of multiple artificial subspecies that can be recognized by their color morphs and specialized traits. Marok stones, found in the bird's gizzard, have unique conductive properties that make it sought-after for use in computer chips.
