The Osiris system is a protected planetary system that consists of a K-type main sequence star, a terrestrial planet, a gas giant, and an asteroid belt. Discovered in 2788, it became the first system to be protected under the Fair Chance Act (FCA) when detailed surveys, delayed by the events of the anti-Messer Revolution, finally concluded in 2799 and revealed a complex biosphere beneath the cloud cover of Osiris I (later nicknamed Etos). OB station Kobold, tasked with observing and protecting the developing life on Etos, sits in one of the planet's Lagrange points.
