The Vesper system (designated VS-08 by the United Empire of Earth (UEE)) is a Vanduul-controlled planetary system that shares no publicly-known jump points with any other systems. It is included in UEE star charts as a part of Vanduul territory, but little other information is known about it. In SEY 2919, the University of Rhetor released a paper describing signals in a strange language that they were unable to decode. They tentatively concluded that the communications originated from the Vesper system, but stated that further research was needed to prove or disprove this hypothesis.
