Degnous root is a type of macroalgae that has medical applications when processed. Discovered along the shallow coastlines of Prime in Terra (Terra III), it was found to contain complex amino acids and was initially used as a dietary supplement. The degnous root has soft flesh that is dark in color and orange and yellow air bladders that vary in size. It thrives in shallow, warm seawater.
