The Rust Society is an organization of haulers and salvagers who mentor newcomers in both fields. Founded in 2423 by Franklin "Knocks" Yeung, it began as an informal, irregular gathering of pilots who shared job postings with one over glasses of Rust, a potent grain alcohol. Over the years, it evolved into an information-sharing and mentorship organization funded by membership dues and expanded onto other worlds. When military supply lines were interrupted during the First Tevarin War, the Rust Society stepped in to help, leading to sharp increase in membership. Today, there are chapters in most United Empire of Earth (UEE) systems.
