Caliban III is the third planet from the sun of the Caliban system in Vanduul territory. When it was first discovered in SEY 2341, it was deemed a non-viable terraforming candidate and left alone in favor of settling Crion (Caliban II). However, by the mid-29th century, there were enough advances in technology that development was approved and terraforming started. All activity came to a halt in 2884, when the Vanduul invaded the Caliban system and wrested it from the possession of the United Empire of Earth(UEE). Derelict machinery damaged in the fighting and abandoned in orbit routinely plummets to its surface.
