Citizen Consortium / CITCON

Lore history:

Initially, there were only a loosely connected band of freelancers and mercs who used encoded message broadcasts to alert eachother to danger along the trade routes. Over time the network grew larger and consisted of traders, miners, explorers, etc. Eventually, the mercs began offering their protective services to anyone on the network who neeed them. It soon became apparent that this was a valuable service and a council of founding members was convened to discuss incorporation. The counsel stopped short of forming a corporation though, in favor of a more formal but still loose organization of individual freelancers and entrepreneurs. Thus the Citizen Consortium was born. These days the pioneer spirit of the early years still echoes for anyone who is a lone trailblazer looking for a friend at their back.

The Citizen Consortium did not exist before Star Citizen. Hopefully it will continue to other games in the future.
