Order of the Dragonfly [DRAGONFLY] - Organizations

History

Centuries ago corporations suppressed individuals to prevent them from creating and using their own creations. Many individuals banded together to fight the oppression of the corporations. This was known as the Open-Source Movement.

The Movement disliked how corporations controlled the markets, lowering the quality of products and reducing individual freedoms. The Movement wanted to have quality, security, and freedom.

With the expansion into space, a faction within the Open-Source Movement saw its chance to break free of the corporations. And so, the Order of the Dragonfly was born.

By 2944, the dangers of space forced the widespread adoption of Open-Source technology. This Movement’s success led many to retire from the Movement. Now, corporations are returning and may very well attempt to reclaim their iron grips on technology.

For the Order of the Dragonfly, the war has not ended nor will it ever end. Corporations and those who seek control will always sprout up like weeds. The Order of the Dragonfly is always watching and always waiting to pluck those weeds from the gardens of space.

Manifesto

The tenets of the Faith.

1) Be an individual.

Members of the Order should pride themselves of being an individual and having their own opinions.

Though there may be disagreements, being different is not only accepted, it is desired.

2) Advance in the name of the Order.

To be free, one must not allow corporations to infest ones lands or ones work.

Explore and claim territory in the name of the Order.

Build new creations in the name of the Order.

3) Avoid Dealings With Corporations.

Corporations are a disease, they should be avoided when possible.

There is honour in risking ones own life to reject assistance of a corporation.

4) Be Friendly and Tolerable

Being free does not mean one must be cruel, nor a bully..

Don’t harass or push ones beliefs onto another.

The Order of the Dragonfly is about having ones own breathing room, so allow one another breathing room.

Misunderstandings are expected, especially when everyone is different.

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

5) Always Be Ready

Being free means one must protect oneself and their assets.

Be ready to fight when threatened.

Be ready to not back down.

Be prepared for different outcomes, freedom is harsh.

6) True Power Comes From Freedom

The most powerful of all forces out there is freedom.

With freedom can one conquer the universe and all that is beyond.

With freedom comes salvation.
