History

The history of Magnate Interstellar began in London, Earth in the Sol system back in 2678. Originally a cooperative of four merchant families who had grown weary due to the ever-increasing grip of large corporations monopolising trade.
While they had generations of experience as planet side merchants, they had little to no real knowledge of space exploration. Sinking the life savings of each family into two modest trading vessels with enough funds left over to cover a couple of cargo runs, Magnate Interstellar was born.

What followed was three decades of hard graft and the shock of adapting to a nomadic way of life in a completely alien environment. This had a devastating impact on each family and they all saw members split to return to planetary life while others persisted to push on with the cooperative.

In the year 2710 Magnate Interstellar founded their first planetary headquarters on Lo in the Corel system. There the organisation would slowly grow to become a well-established merchant outfit known across multiple systems around the Human/Banu borders. In 2718 the org purchased an RSI Constellation Andromeda, just 6 years after the ship was first introduced to the market. This gave Magnate a huge boost in trading potential and was soon followed by two more Andromedas being purchased for regular trade runs. This sparked a golden age for the organisation which went on to see many years of prosperity.
By the year 2860 only one remaining family could trace its lineage all the way back to the founding origins, The Duvoncho family. By now the org had attracted a wide range of members from many worlds and they had begun to turn their hand to other money-making endeavours, this was largely due to the increasingly strict customs controls on Lo making it harder to turn a profit from trade alone.

In 2928, marking the 250th anniversary year of the organisation, Magnate left their headquarters on Lo and completely relocated to Cassel in the Goss system. To this day the HQ is based in the city of Lyre where Magnate Interstellar makes the largest portion of its income from transporting tourists and pleasure seekers to and from Cassel and other luxury destinations in the surrounding systems. After the relocation Magnate went through a downturn in its profitability and numbers as the org tried to establish itself on a new world.

While the membership isn’t what it was in its trading golden era of a century ago, it is slowly becoming a reputable name once again as humanity steps closer towards the fourth millennium AD.

Manifesto

Magnate Interstellar is an organisation that is owned and run by its members. It is an independent UEE based organisation that is focused on profit, knowledge, growth and community. One of our founding goals that we still adhere to today is to strive to become an independent and fully self sufficient organisation

Magnate Interstellar does not align itself with any political party or race. We maintain a position of neutrality.

Tourism

We pride ourselves on having built a lucrative and well-established presence in the luxury passenger community. Our ships can often be seen landing at the most prestigious of resorts, and we cater to the most discerning clientele.

Transport & Trade

The long history of Magnate’s trading heritage that stretches back over 250 years is not something that we have forgotten. While no longer our main concern it is still a tradition that we are very proud of and still have pilots regularly hauling goods all across UEE space and beyond.

Science & Exploration

Scientific research and exploration are the most recent facets to the organisation and as such we are still in development of our infrastructure. Due to pilot interest, we have decided to dedicate an arm of the organisation solely for the pursuit of knowledge.

Industry

Magnate Interstellar first became involved with mining roughly 60 years ago. Since then we have built on our knowledge of extraction and production. Magnate is keen to explore the possibility of breaking into the ship components manufacture market.

Security

Contrary to popular belief Magnate do have a home for combat-oriented members. Be it escorts for luxury passenger liners or high value cargo to pilots that operate as bounty hunters. Many of our members have completed a UEE tour of duty and are competent combat pilots. We also have pilots who operate independent medical evac ships offering rescue services in more remote areas.

Charter

Magnate Interstellar prides itself on its law-abiding principles, we are a legitimate organisation and conduct ourselves accordingly.

1. Members will act respectfully towards fellow members of Magnate Interstellar as well as other players. Please remember that you are a representative of the org. Issues that cannot be resolved amongst involved parties can be brought to High Command attention to seek resolution.

2. Members will not engage in criminal activity while representing Magnate Interstellar. This would include piracy, terrorism, abusive, threatening or griefing behaviour, actions that put others at risk of harm etc.

3. Members may pursue any type of profession that doesn’t contravene any of the org rules or CIG rules of conduct. (for example smuggling and player bounty hunting etc. is fine if conducted legitimately and within TOS).

4. Members will where possible help other players, especially newer players. We prefer to rescue our fellow citizen rather than kill and rob them.

5. The organisation operates on UK time (GMT) and is English speaking. We do however welcome members from all over the world. All we ask is that our org structure be respected and for members to keep chat to the standard communication procedure.
