~ Wardogs: Special Forces Creed

A private military company, Hired as a Quick Response Security Force, as well as a highly trained Special Warfare Operations Unit for Covert Missions and retrieval.

History

Formed in the final moments of the year 2380, the United Nations Ranger Corps (U.N.R.C.) was created. Seen as a way to combat the rise in tension and failure of the Nations security acts, it poised as a method of universal security. The use of private military companies and corporations to fulfill lacking global security roles, made many mercenaries and rebel groups quickly join. An Outfit, the 10th Company “Wardogs”- that recruited members from all the branches of the Armed Forces of the world, served the U.N.R.C. as a quick response security force during the harsh transitions into deep space exploration and “First Contact”. The Unit, part of the U.N.E. (United Nations of Earth) but not owned or controlled by its government, was a separate entity hired as a PMC (Private Military Company) and used to perform high-level security and retrieval tasks – often deemed too “hazardous” to the U.N.E.‘s now united military forces.
As the Earth’s social and political differences were set aside, (at least in the public’s eyes -several PMC’s were hired to “aid” in the transfer of the lesser more resistant city-states), Mankind began to strike out into the stars to form new colonies. It was during this transition that things began to rapidly spin out of control. The forming of the U.P.E (United Planets of Earth) after the colonies demanded equal treatment and rights and the first of several alien first contacts did not help growing tensions, leading up to The First Tevarin War. During this time the “Wardogs” – with its mysterious and almost archaic and style of guerrilla warfare, made a name for itself (and redacted it) in the chronicles of history. But while “The Corps” would last over 200 years, it was during the creation of the U.E.E. (United Empire of Earth) that the Ranger Corps would see a sudden death blow as Ivar Messer took the title Imperator. In a swift move, he dissolved all current PMC contracts, reducing the U.P.E.‘s main standing Army and many other Private Military Companies, to simply guns for hire, mercenaries, and bounty hunters.
It would not be for another 100 years before the U.E.E met its newest threat – the Vanduul – and that the “Wardogs” would be seen again. Somehow not having lost their training, teachings, and traditions they quickly resurfaced as a power equal to its early days. They were quickly hired by 9th Fleet Admiral John P. Joans to aid in tracking and hunting down the elusive Vanduul fleets. While publicly tasked with this ‘manhunt’ of the Vanduul Raiders, in reality, they were secretly asked and paid to aid in the training of the 9th Fleet. Preparing those of the 9th to the long lost standard of what had been Earths original Special Forces – before the military regime of Imperator Messer had changed humanity and beat it almost into submission. They were also asked to base their operations with-in the 9th Fleet, as the cracks in the system were becoming evident, and the Activist groups began launching attacks against the political war machine of the Imperator.
With the impending war with the Xi’an, and the Vanduul Clans constant raiding on the outer ring of the frontier, and the need for a United Earth Armed Forces was greater than ever. With Humanity’s willingness to put up with the cruelty of the Imperator regime coming to an end, careful calculations were made and alliances were formed. The deciding factor in the rule of Ivar Messer was the “Massacre of Garron II”, to which after the people overthrew the government and Erin Toi became the new Imperator and began to chart a course of human enlightenment and social consciousness. With its “divided” military stretched thin, the U.E.E. needed help more than ever, and once again Private Military Company contracts began to surface. It is most likely that the group “Wardogs” will make a mysterious appearance once again in the coming chaos of war.

Manifesto

As a Warrior of the United Nations Ranger Corps (U.N.R.C) Mobile Infantry,

I acknowledge the fact that I am a diplomat, and an ambassador to all people, races, and species I meet.

I acknowledge the fact that I have been specially selected for the United Nations Ranger Corps Outfit “Wardogs”, and that I am now a member of the elite warrior class.

I acknowledge the fact that to become a “Wardog”, I must exhibit a sense of:

-Loyalty: I do not conflict our goals or personal achievements by taking sharing sides in the conflict.I will not serve in a manor that – at the time – is a conflict of interest, during operations.

-Duty: I will attend the Outfit training to the best of my ability. While one of our many mottoes is “Real Life comes First”, I will plan properly to make time once a month to attend. If this is not possible, I shall make sure to contact the leadership and let them know, so that there is no confusion. During Operations, if I am to take part in the squad’s activities, I will listen and obey those who have trained to become part of the leadership core and do my best to aid the team.

-Respect: I will respect all those who have earned it. I will refrain from comments that are in bad taste, racial, sexual, or otherwise deemed in gross conflict by the Officers and Outfit Leader. I will refrain from actions that are deemed unprofessional and will strive to do my best to maintain a polite and professional manner.

-Integrity: I will do what is right, legally and morally – within and outside the law at all times. I will never lie to a member of the outfit, or its officers. I will always strive, to tell the truth, for the truth is a shield – a lie a double edged sword. My words will become known as solid and honorable, and I shall continue to develop my integrity.

-Courage: I will not falter in the face of adversity. I will push forward where others retreat. I will not abandon my unit when things get hard, and I shall stand as a symbol of courage for all others to rally behind. I will, with my unit, lead the way. First to the fight and last to leave, when others fall back, I shall forever be “On the Move”.

-Honor: I shall live up to the values demanded by the Outfit. Honor is simply carrying out, acting, and living the values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Integrity, and Courage every day – both within and outside the playing field. My honor is what binds my words to truth – and my actions to reality.

As such, I accept this as my Creed:

-Recognizing that I have been recruited as a Warrior, fully knowing the hazards and secrecy of my chosen profession, I will always endeavour to uphold the honor, loyalty, and traditions of the Corps.

-Acknowledging the fact that as a Warrior, I accept and am expected to move further, faster and fight harder than any other Soldier.

-Never shall I fail my Corps I shall stay mentally alert, physically strong and morally attuned. To shoulder more than my share of the mission, and to give my all one hundred percent, all of the time.

-Gallantly will I show the galaxies why I am a specially selected and well-trained Warrior. My actions shall speak for me, as I am silence and never to reveal my purpose or intent, past that what the mission requires of me.

-Energetically will I meet the enemies of the U.N.E., and shall defeat them in the stars of battle, for I am better trained, and will fight till my last breath. Surrender is not in our creed, and never shall I back down to those whom bare arms to press into harm’s way.

-Readily will I display the strength, dedication and fortitude required to fight on, to complete the objective and complete the mission though I am the lone survivor.

Charter

Written here is the Uniform Code of Conduct and Doctrine for the Wardogs Special Forces:

ARTICLE I: UNIFORM CODE OF CONDUCT

I am a Wardog, the term used for a member of an Esteemed Mercenary force that upholds the Virtues of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Honor. In all things we do, both in-game and out we strive for perfection, not in only ourselves, but in the team’s effort. To achieve this I must push myself past what is common and strive to be the elite in all that we do. In this, I follow the teachings of the 9 Noble Virtues:

COURAGE: I face my fear and defend my unit from all dangers. I will not falter in the face of adversity. I will push forward where others retreat. I will not abandon or quit my unit when things get hard, and I shall stand as a symbol for all others to rally behind. I will, with my unit, lead the way. First to the fight and last to leave, when others fall back, I shall forever be “On the Move”.

DISCIPLINE: I do what is necessary and right of my own accord without bribe or threat. I show the world that I am specially selected and well trained. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. During Operations, if I am to take part in the squad’s activities, I will listen and obey those who have trained to become part of the leadership core and do my best to aid the team. My actions and choices reflect my training and my commitment to perfection.

LOYALTY: I do not conflict our goals or personal achievements by taking sharing sides in the conflict. While I understand that in-game each chooses their own preference, I will not use that to my personal advantage in the form of spying, or passing on information or locations to other factions within or outside the playing field. I will not serve in a manner that is (at that time) a conflict of interest during operations.

PRESERVENCE: I press on against all odds until my goal is met and the task is finished. I take pride in my labor and hold nothing back in the work I have pledged to do. I am true to my unit, allies, and kindred to those I have pledged my service. While others will abandon their posts and flee, I will stand my ground in honor to what I have sworn to complete and task I have come to finish.

DUTY: I will attend the outfit training nights and operations nights to the best of my ability. While one of our many mottos is “Real Life comes First”, I will plan properly to make time once a month to attend both a training night and operations night with my brothers and sisters within the outfit. If this is not possible, I shall make sure to contact the leadership and let them know, so that there is no confusion.

RESPECT: I will respect all those who are part of the game, both within and outside the playing field. I will refrain from comments that are in bad taste, racial, sexual, or otherwise deemed in gross conflict by the game’s creators and moderators. I will refrain from actions at start zones that are deemed unprofessional and will strive to do my best to maintain a polite and professional manner. While it is known that friendly and rival banter is to be expected – I will make sure that my words or actions, do not go overboard, for in the end – it is just a game.

INTEGRITY: I will do what is right, legally and morally – within and outside the playing field at all times. I will never lie to a member of the outfit, or its officers. I will always strive, to tell the truth, for the truth is a shield – a lie a double edged sword. My words will become known as solid and honorable, and I shall continue to develop my integrity, within and outside the playing field.

SELF-RELIANCE: I learn skills and grow strong so that I may earn my way in the world and be no burden to others. I know a fine line separates a fighter from a warrior, one motivated by reason, the other myself, motivated by purpose. I will choose what is right, not what is easy, and gladly take on the challenge that choice presents so that I may aid my unit by being dependable, not as a hindrance.

HONOR: I shall live up to the values demanded by the Outfit. Honor is simply carrying out, acting, and living the values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Integrity, and Courage every day – both within and outside the playing field. My honor is what binds my words to truth – and my actions to reality. I am a Wardog – words and deeds fade in time – but a good name lasts forever.
