Hi everyone, With the announcement of CitizenCon Direct, we’re thrilled to share that while this year’s event is going fully digital, it doesn’t mean we won’t be celebrating together. In fact, we’re taking this opportunity to bring the show to you—literally. We’re sending key members of the CIG team out into the world to join Bar Citizen Watch Parties across the NA and EU on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and we want to hear from you if you're planning to host one! Submissions are open now through June 30, so read on for details and let us know why your event should be on our radar. Watch Party Basics CitizenCon Direct is shaping up to be a ~2-hour digital showcase, going live at 8 PM UK time (BST) / 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET on October 11. It’ll be streamed free on Twitch and YouTube, packed with reveals, surprises, and dense content from start to finish—every minute counts! This year’s CitizenCon format is different. As we shared earlier, our focus is on pushing Squadron 42 toward its targeted release next year, while continuing to level up Star Citizen with meaningful, measurable progress in every patch. Rather than host a traditional in-person event, we’re delivering the energy of CitizenCon directly to the community—no matter where you are. That’s where you come in. Hosting a Watch Party? Let Us Know! We’re looking to attend a handful of Bar Citizen watch parties across NA and EU, and we’d love to consider yours. If you're planning to host a CitizenCon Direct Watch Party, submit your event details to CitizenConDirect@Cloudimperiumgames.com. But first, here are a few things to keep in mind: While there are no hard rules, we do have a few important guidelines that will better your chances of having CIG team members attend your event: Must-Have: A Way to Watch (and HEAR!) the Show This is, after all, a watch party! Whether it’s a sports bar filled with TVs or a cozy venue with a projector setup, having the livestream ready to go is essential. The better the viewing experience, the more likely we’ll be to attend. Low Barrier to Entry We know many Bar Citizen events charge a fee to help cover venue costs—and that’s completely fine! That said, we’re prioritizing events with low or minimal entry barriers to keep things as accessible and inclusive as possible. Your Event Should Stand on Its Own Please only submit an event if you’re planning to host it regardless of whether CIG can attend. We’re expecting a high number of submissions, and unfortunately, we’ll only be able to visit a small number of watch parties. Your event should be first and foremost about gathering with friends, orgmates, and fellow Citizens to enjoy the show together. Help Us Get to Know Your Event When submitting, be sure to include key details like the venue location, your estimated or maximum attendance, and whether you’ve hosted a Bar Citizen before. Most importantly, tell us what makes your event special! Whether it’s a unique theme, a passionate local community, or an epic post-show plan, we’d love to hear what sets your watch party apart. Where We're Going This year, we’re focusing our in-person attendance on events in the NA and EU only. We’d love to be everywhere, but time and logistics mean we can only attend a limited number of events. If we’re able to join your event, we’ll reach out with plenty of notice to coordinate with you. If not—know that we’re incredibly grateful for your support, and we hope you’ll still have an amazing time celebrating with friends! Either way, we’ll be contacting all organizers in July to confirm whether or not we’ll be attending, so you can plan your event with confidence.
