The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is about to open its doors once again, and for many a citizen, it marks when they stepped into Stanton for the first time. IAE is all about giving you the vehicular empowerment you need to take you beyond the stars, and this year we're helping you get your space legs. Introducing IAE Academy, a mini-crash course to spaceflight and the opportunities that await an enterprising green pilot. How does it work? Throughout IAE, players new and old alike can complete the following series of tasks, all geared toward getting you started in Star Citizen: ► New Player Tutorial This mission is offered to you in a prompt before you log in for the first time. This series of missions gets your feet wet, both in navigating your first landing zone as well as getting in the cockpit of your first ship. Select New Babbage as your primary residence to make sure you're close to the convention center! ► Visit the IAE Show Floor Speaking of the convention center, the next task is to visit the Tobin Expo Centre and check out the IAE show floor! This is also where you can rent a new vehicle to try out during the expo, completely free! ► Complete Your Bounty Hunter Certification A quick way to get into space combat is by getting certified as a bounty hunter. This can be found in your contracts manager, and pits you against a low risk target to see how you fare. This then opens up more bounties and security contracts for you to pursue, kicking off your combat career. ► Sell Ore to a Commodity Kiosk Or maybe you want to get your hands dirty in a different way? Get behind the wheel of a mining vehicle like the MISC Prospector and crack open some asteroids to see what's inside. Sell the ore at a station, city, or outpost commodity kiosk to turn dust into dollar bills. ► Complete a Hauling Contract Truckin' more your speed? Find the contract called "Opportunity for Independent Cargo Hauler" in your mobiGlas, get in a ship that can haul some freight (such as a Freelancer or Nomad), and get that cargo to its destination for a tidy profit. This also opens up further freighting opportunities from local shipping companies. Complete any three of the five tasks above between now and December 5 at 8 PM UTC to receive the following rewards: IAE 2954 Event Shirt White ORC-mkX Singularity Armor Set Stoneskin Undersuit P4-AR “Nightstalker” Rifle Gemini L86 Pistol NOTE: For veteran players, we will be counting completion of the hauling contract, bounty hunter contract and the new player tutorial since 3.24.0's initial release in August. These rewards will be attributed on November 27, December 2, and December 5. The IAE Academy page will track your IAE Academy progress; tracking won't be visible in-game. As you complete tasks, you’ll receive a completion stamp on that webpage, rewarded daily. Jumping into the 'verse for the first time? You can fly for free until December 5. We hope this gives you a head start as you make your way into Stanton! Enjoy IAE, and see you in the 'verse! UPDATE: We're currently working to improve task tracking, particularly with the hauling and bounty missions that count toward The Academy rewards. Please check back on the main IAE page daily to track your progress. Please note that progress tracking isn’t visible in-game. Stamps are distributed once daily—so you may not receive them immediately after completing a task.
