Calling all pilots! Urgent assistance required! XenoThreat is putting our system and its people in peril yet again, and we can’t fight them alone. Join the Civilian Defense Force for a multi-week series of missions to play your part in foiling the most diabolical threat to Stanton yet. Over the following weeks, volunteers will be tasked with capturing intel, targeting key insurgents, countering strike forces, and more, all in the pursuit of victory. Due to the severity of the situation, Anvil Aerospace has released its next-generation space-superiority fighter onto the civilian market. Stronger, faster, and harder-hitting, the Mk II is a complete evolution of the storied Hornet medium fighter revered by the Empire. :sparkles: Those who prove themselves during this initiative will be awarded complimentary upgrades from the F7C Mk II to the military-exclusive F7A Mk II for their service AND a set of recovered XenoThreat medium armor. :tada: The CDF needs as many pilots as possible to defeat the increasingly deadly XenoThreat incursion. In response, all new recruits (and those who refer them) will receive a complementary Kruger P-52 Merlin to aid them in the battle against XenoThreat alongside other bonuses and perks. Learn more on the XenoThreat referral page. To rally behind the cause, accept the ‘Overdrive Initiative’ contract in your mobiGlas when available. Missions will update as the threat evolves, so stay alert and keep checking back (both this FAQ and the main website will be updated as the story unfolds). Overdrive Initiative Missions ▲ [AVAILABLE] 1 - INTEL RAID (Data Heist) - Started on Friday, March 15th We have received anonymous tips that there is an impending XenoThreat attack! You are sent on a scouting mission to figure out where and when it's going to happen. At the same time, we have detected that a small XenoThreat team has been sent into Stanton to presumably scout out for this attack. We need you to neutralize these cells and obtain any intel you can at the scene. ► Assault bunkers to get codes from XenoThreat operatives. ▲ [AVAILABLE] 2 - PRIORITY TARGETS (Bounty PvE, Decryption) - Started on Friday, March 22nd Our analysts have looked over the intel seized from those XenoThreat cells but it appears that they're using a sophisticated encryption system to encode their messages. If we want any chance to decipher this information, we'll need to take down members of the XenoThreat command that are likely to have keys to decrypt the messages. ► Bounty Hunt 3 targets, and get the decryption keys. ▲ [AVAILABLE] 3 - XENOTHREAT INCURSION (Combat PvE) - Started on Friday, March 29th XenoThreat's been lashing out at being targeted. We're not sure if this is their ultimate attack or something to keep us off balance, but we need them stopped. We used the decryption keys to learn about a group of scattered attacks that XenoThreat is looking to launch. This way, we have the intel to get to an area before XenoThreat arrives. ► Defeat 5 incursions. ▲ [AVAILABLE] 4 - XENOTHREAT SURVEILLANCE + 'stay alert for more' (Hacking, Ships/EVA/FPS Combat) - Started on Friday, April 5th We've learned that XenoThreat has been hijacking comm arrays and implanting Vanguard callouts, which is how they've been getting their intel. ► Hack and shut down comm arrays. ▲ [ONGOING] 5 - SUPPLY REQUEST (Transport) - Starts on Friday, April 12th XenoThreat's gone dark. They must be on to us, shutting down all operations and communique in Stanton. The CDF wants you to help call their bluff. Resupply the jump point station and stay prepared for an imminent attack. ► Deliver supplies to the jump point station to prepare for an attack. :warning: Mission 5 prepares players for the final XenoThreat assault (Mission 6), which will begin soon after Star Citizen Alpha 3.23 goes live. Players must complete the first five missions before the final XenoThreat assault begins, as the previous missions will not be available during the XenoThreat event. For Alpha 3.23, we are adding a CVAR (instructions on how to run the CVAR will follow) that will allow you to verify your status on the Overdrive Initiative event tracking and us to debug further. Additionally, we have resolved the problem with the mission history and the counter not working as expected. ▲ What is this additional reward you are offering: A set of XenoThreat Medium Armor ► During your adventures, you may have noticed NPCs wearing this set of armor from the XenoThreat faction. Once you have completed all the Overdrive Initiative missions, that set of armor will be yours to keep! If you have any further questions, let us know, and we will do our best to answer them. Rewards The premier fighter of the UEE Navy, the Anvil Hornet Mk II, is on the frontline of any engagement. This iconic fighter has bred some of the UEE's most fearsome pilots: Now you can try your hand at becoming a top gun yourself with the F7A Mk II. A fine balance of firepower, a small, nimble frame, and top speeds ensure this medium fighter can hold its own in most tactical scenarios. ► F7A Mk II Hornet Upgrade: All players that complete missions 1 to 5 of Overdrive Initiative will receive a complimentary upgrade from the F7C Mk II Hornet to the F7A Mk II with the release of Alpha 3.23. When the new patch launches, just accept the mission titled ‘Overdrive Initiative: Reward’ and you’ll be granted your upgrade (and free 7 day rental). ► XenoThreat Armor: The XenoThreat medium armor will be granted to all players who complete each Overdrive Initiative mission, including the following XenoThreat Assault, Mission 6, in Alpha 3.23. Make sure that you complete the Overdrive Initiative missions 1 to 5 before the Xenothreat event starts after the release of Alpha 3.23. Important note: Players must complete all five Overdrive Initiative missions before the XenoThreat assault begins as the missions will not be available during the event.
