Where do I start 1) Terrible PR 2) Terrible 3) Monetizing yet another thing about the game 4) I tolerated the ship sales - you needs funds I get it. I've stuck by this project for years but you are clearly no longer a company that gives a damn about ethics or asking should we's shouldn't we's. Specifically aside from pay to win selling land claims is more unsettling than just saying donate and here have a ship. 5) I'm done with liking/valuing you as a company. From no perspective was this an intelligent decision. still hope the game will be great, and am even thinking it will end up at least decent but this move shows clealy youre not worth my optimism. Still a fan of the game, just no longer a fan of you :disappointed: See you in 2020!. regards, an ex fan edited to remove hyperbolic language from angry myah response edit 2: people please read this has nothing to do with pay to win, thats a silly argument and completely illogical. edit 3: Upon some reflection i think I'm just done with the reality of what drives this games funding. Its icky, it was always icky, but thegame was on the horizon so the icky didnt't seem so icky... Now with several more years to go I think i'm just a bit disgusted by the necessity. i don't think it will affect or damage the game mechanics or be pay to win. I think I just need to take a break from paying attention to an aspect of the development of this game I find distasteful and just look at the monthly reports and youtube content, and test the PU. Completely ignoring their community engagement and ship sales. Cause honestly Iit just gives me a nasty taste in my mouth. I really believe in the project but in my eyes CiG is no longer a moral/ethical actor. That realization saddens me.
