I remember when we were promised an organic, living universe, one where every choice mattered, where actions had real consequences, and where a complex systemic simulation would make the world feel truly alive. Now, what we’re hearing sounds like the complete opposite: a closed, compartmentalized world filled with small, developer-made “attractions” designed for limited groups of players, often inside isolated or semi-instanced environments. Instead of a living universe, we’re looking at a collection of small, predictable playgrounds , where death means nothing, consequences vanish, and players can simply repop endlessly. I understand that CIG can’t deliver everything at once, and that compromises are sometimes necessary. But this feels like a 180° shift from the original vision, almost like a betrayal of what made Star Citizen so special in the first place. When they released their first events, they kept saying “don’t worry, soon it’ll be dynamic.” But now it’s all “when we say, where we say, how we say.” Some saw the slippery slope early on, while others jumped on the content after years of drought. Look where we are now: - Dynamic events forgotten - Quanta renamed, repurposed, maybe after 1.0 - Storyline, world bosses to farm, closed instances, open ones, PvE-only Basically, a random MMO with a pretty skin. edit : Guys, from your responses, it feels like you can’t really conceptualize what a sandbox not driven by hand-crafted dev content could be. When I talk about a living, organic world full of surprises, you just respond with PvP. It seems fear is narrowing your thinking. I’m honestly sad for you. Go read the old Star Citizen literature.
