Good morning sir and madams, Wakish here but some of you may know me as President Highfather Madam Omega Male God-King Pirate Lord Supreme Wakish the LXIXth Today, instead of taking, I want to chip into the holiday spirit with just a bit of giving and give you boys a perspective from a day in the life of a seasoned pirate. Now my favorite type of hit is hands down stealing from ROC miners without them being aware, and stealing hours of their work without them ever knowing I was there in the first place - only to rinse and repeat the process until they either die, log off, or discover my presence; it's always a blast - although in recent patches finding ROC miners is nearly impossible since it has so many issues currently. As such, I've mainly been hitting cargo haulers and have had a great time doing so My typical MO is to break into a cargo hauler's ship while they're purchasing cargo, get to the pilot seat, and then after they purchase their cargo just wait for them to get back onboard - now I could fly away with the cargo before they get back on the ship but really where's the fun in that? I don't pirate for aUEC since I have as much aUEC as I'll ever need, so I really pirate for the experience. They inevitably come to the pilot seat where I reveal my presence and lay out the terms of my visit; depending on the amount of cargo I usually ask for very specific amounts: No cargo: I gauge the situation, maybe 20k aUEC Full cargo (small ship): 42.0k aUEC Full cargo (big ship): 69,420k aUEC I ask for these specific amounts just for fun and my targets sometimes see the humor in the request and pay promptly, resulting in me leaving peacefully with no further harm done, although many haulers refuse to #PayTheirPirates because their ego gets in the way and these are truly the most fun hits They will typically say things like "I will never pay!" or "You can't trust pirates!" which is both hilarious and complete horseradish; pirates are the ideal human being created by His Noodliness himself and does not serve as a proper excuse for their own shortcomings. These people will often tell me "I'm not leaving my ship until you leave" to which I usually respond by explaining that as a professional camper I could not care less as I have 5 monitors, love multitasking, and have limitless anime to watch on the side. These people will usually try to stand there pretending to be afk but I watch them in third person, following them throughout their ship keeping a watchful eye on them no matter where they go. In WoW I camp for 4-5+ hours regularly and don't see this as an issue No matter how polite or non-violent I am these types of individuals are inevitable, but that's okay because it's funny :smile: On a recent hit this week, after holding someone hostage for an hour (instead of paying the requested 42k aUEC) they eventually had a friend pad ram MY ship (I stole it, it's mine) (and isn't that griefing?) resulting in them both dying. Of course I claim victory, as our KD is 2-1 resulting in a stream of salty tears. Delicious. People think that pirates are griefers, but in my experience it's typically the other way around. As a pirate I don't ram people, but cargo haulers ram me - and that's not cool, kids. Maybe if people #PayTheirPirates their experiences with pirates wouldn't seem so negative (and deadly) Next time you find yourselves in this situation, maybe reflect on your own behavior before accusing others of griefing. If you are hopping into a ship to ram another one in order to escape a piracy hit, maybe you're the problem Happy holidays everyone, and make sure to watch yourselves out there ;D
