OK so after the medical changes now this is just ticking me off so I figure it's time to ask and see if I'm the only one thinking like this or if this is a pattern others are picking up on. Maybe I'm just crazy but I swear we're seeing a pattern here. So we've got CIG saying the following now that they effectively canned the med bed tier system and this is their reply. Previously, T3 beds did not offer enough utility outside of replenishing food and drink and minor injuries. I have a problem with this. So for over a decade now we've been sold on a pretty defined version of how life, death, and respawning will work in Star Citizen. Yes, the first death of a spaceman brief was 11 years ago, and it's been touched on multiple times since then. CIG built and defined this system, said it's going to be the way it is, and it's been like this ever since. CIG created multiple tiers of med beds and since day one of there being multiple tiers it has been explained that only certain tiers would be capable of revives eventually. T3 didn't offer enough utility? They DESIGNED it to not offer much utility. They relaxed this in the very beginning but told us from day one that it was temporary. Then as more med beds entered the verse they cut out the respawn feature on T3's and only let T2's do it for the simple fact there was no T1's yet, but once we got T1's then the same thing would happen. CIG designed and marketed this system like this for years and years. The level of a med bed was a feature CIG created and charged for based on what ships got them and what tier. Real world value, as well as in game value, was assigned based on these specific and outlined features. It was a direct marketing point in A LOT of the media released on various ships over the years that have med beds, it became a question that rose to the top of EVERY Q&A poll ever put before users. This was a specific feature you sold us. But now that's useless. OOOO you can respawn a few more meters away from a T2 than you can a T3. Big whoop, unless you nerf the ever living hell out of that thing (use thee nerf stick you guys keep beating the poor Ares with, you love that stick it seems) and give T3's like a max 1km respawn range (which could be a fix for this whole mess) there is effectively zero reason for the average player to care about any other size bed. Those more expensive ships we bought for the explicit purpose of doing the function YOU sold us? Pretty worthless now honestly. Playing a medic role? Also pretty much worthless now. But beyond all that, even if you do put a 1 KM max range on the T3 beds and keep T2's around 50 KM and T1's should be at least 200 KM based on having real world cash values tied to them by CIG for all this time, there's still another overarching problem that I haven't seen anyone bring up yet. In less than 1 month we have now seen 2 entire feature sets that were cash value tied to real world decisions for over a decade now (yup bed logging was a CIG talking and marketing point for over 10 years as well now) wiped away in a matter of 1-2 forum posts. These are priced selling points that people based decisions on, especially regarding real world money, and that CIG sold to use for varying levels of money and as a differentiating point between ships, that CIG has now just poofed away into the ether. Beds to log in are now useless, at some point you might get some small stat boost (ug) but since there's not even XP (please dont add XP) in this game whatever boost they could give you is virtually worthless. So, I guess my question is just that. Am I the only one seeing that? Am I looking into it too much? Am I right or wrong that for over a decade both of these things were sold to people for real money and now they just keep wiping away them away? Does anyone have a way to make it make sense or were we just sold a bridge to nowhere and now the lights are coming on? Does anyone have another way to see this that doesn't invalidate 2 direct selling points CIG pushed for over a decade? What other things that we've been told for 10+ years now are going to be completely changed at the flick of a wrist, what are we supposed to believe in now that entire pillars of the game concept can vanish overnight?
