Disclaimer: This is not an official CIG post. The results are official (they are taken from the official Starmap web app). Hello! Is been a long time but I found some spare time to update starcitizen.center database and returned with a new report. 2017: Q1 report: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/ark-starmap-dev-updates-q1-2017 Q2 report: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/ark-starmap-dev-updates-q2-2017 Q3 report: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/ark-starmap-dev-updates-q3-q4-2017 2018: I've returned, as promised, with a new unofficial patch log of the Archivist team on the Starmap public data. The updates are relative to today (11 Nov 2018) to the last update (Nov 2017). Major changes The star from Nul system got updated from a "Main Sequence-Variable-G" to "Variable" According to Wikipedia "A variable star is a star whose brightness as seen from Earth (its apparent magnitude) fluctuates. This variation may be caused by a change in emitted light or by something partly blocking the light." https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/star/1769 New celestial body, that is a ship in a Banu system. It does not have a description yet. Belligerent Duck added as part of the Mercury concept sale https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/manmade/2827 Tanga, Nul, Ayr'ka and Tamsa systems just got bumped in the 10th largest Systems, see a top here: https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/find-search/systems?visible=name.avgdistau.factions.planets.moons.jp.spacestations.sensoreconomy.landingzones.connections.sensorpopulation.sizeau&sortBy=sizeau&sortAsc=0 Tanga system updated size (in AU): 19.45 => 82.735 Tamsa system updated size (in AU): 45 => 303.57 Nul system updated size (in AU): 4.6 => 119.7 Ayr'ka system updated size (in AU): 55 => 198.97 Helios system was way too large before (relative to other systems) so it was made smaller, but it still is the largest one: Helios system updated size (in AU): 403 => 237.2 Banshee System got an increase factor of 5x 9.8 => 55.7 https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/system/346/ And Kellog 2x: 15.6 => 33.337 https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/system/326/ Terra got closer to the Sun (12%) and a decrease in size (-8%). https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/planet/1723 The "Science Station" from Ellis got a new name and description (did not had one): https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/manmade/2603 Encole Station "Thanks to several government grants and private donors, this scientific station was constructed in 2931 to perform habitation studies on Ellis VI." New descriptions / info Cano system description (before and after): https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/system/418/ Cano is a four-planet star system located in the UEE. It was discovered in 2587. The only inhabited planet, Carteyna (Cano II), is an ocean planet tidally locked to its star. Humans have attempted to terraform the planet multiple times; however, all attempts have been unsuccessful. Carteyna was placed under the Fair Chance act in 2902, when life was discovered developing in its deep oceans. The current inhabitants of the planet were consolidated into a single arcology to avoid damaging the environment. Terraforming attempts are now outlawed. Cano is a four-planet UEE star system discovered in 2463. The largest population in the system is located on the the planet Carteyna (Cano II), an ocean world that geoengineers were attempting to terraform until developing life was discovered in the deep oceans. Since then, protective laws have been put into place and the current inhabitants are restricted to living in arcologies under the northern ice cap. Carteyna the ocean planet from Cano system got a shrink in size (from 6000 to 3600) and a new description: https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/planet/2513 For centuries, geoengineers tried to terraform this ocean planet with little success due to the difficulty in converting it’s relatively thick atmosphere. However, all attempts were halted when microscopic organism were discovered deep in the water and Carteyna was placed under the Fair Chance Act. Seeking to protect the indigenous life form, previously existing planetary settlements have been allowed to remain and are strictly regulated. Seeking to guard the developing indigenous life form, planetary settlements are strictly regulated. JusticeStar Satellite doubled its distance from the SUN (15 to 33AU) and a new description: https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/manmade/2607 Located in one of the QuaterDeck’s Lagrange points, this satellite is the central processing center for the prison world. Located in one of the QuarterDeck’s Lagrange points, this satellite is the central processing center for the prison world. Tangaroa description (old vs new): https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/planet/1837 Frequent volcanic activity on this large ocean world results in the creation of temporary land masses that are often used as brief recreational sites by visiting watersport enthusiasts. The planet’s more permanent residents traditionally live in underwater habitats near the sparse landmasses located at the poles. Pyro IV got a new "parent", instead of orbiting the Sun now orbits the Pyro V gas giant and got a 3x increase in size. https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/planet/1749 Taranis system: Taranis Belt Alpha got a small distance update and they removed the "outlaws" from the description: (old vs new) A dense asteroid belt that is low on mineral resources. Popular as a hiding place for smugglers and an ambush point for outlaws. The system’s inner asteroid belt is only slightly easier to navigate through than the outer belt. https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/asteroid_belt/1785 Taranis IV got further by its Sun (5.6 => 18.39) and a small increase in size. Description (old vs new): Though a good refueling option, many avoid this large gas giant due to the system’s high criminal presence. This gas giant sees little in the way of commercial traffic owing to its remote location. https://starcitizen.center/stargazer/celestial/planet/1788 Taranis Belt Beta description (old vs new): The system’s second asteroid belt is only slightly easier to navigate through than the inner belt. A dense asteroid belt that is low on mineral resources. Popular as a hiding place for smugglers and an ambush point for outlaws. ------------------------------------------------- These were the "major" updates, for the smaller ones I made a 18 pages document here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hl_2WaNQ4Fp3vyubmp8pJweMMcIQX90qxxdeFA34n6Y/edit?usp=sharing If you will find something important there please report it here so others will know! Thanks!
