I'm a sucker for Drake ships, I love the lore, the character, the look and feel of them in game. Accomplishing something in one of these bare bones rust buckets just feels that much more rewarding. Though, for once, backers are asking for less of a ship. And it seems to go ignored over and over again. Which of course brings us to the newly announced "Cutlass Steel." Now I don't really care about "weather or not we need another drop ship" I and many others have been using the cutlass black as a drop ship anyway for as long as we've been playing. 6 jump seats and room for not one but 2 cyclones made that ship a great way to slip in a squad mounted in their own vehicles without being spotted. But here's the rub CIG. When whoever that designer was who sat down and blocked out space for 18 more seats, a second turret, and five guns on the doors, did you think that maybe you just had too much room to fill up with stuff? That perhaps the ability to seat nearly half a server comfortably inside the hull of this "medium fighter/freighter" meant that it might just bee a tad too big? So what are we left with now? A police car that can't catch the bad guys. A rescue ship that can't do anything a backpack full of drugs can. A "2 person" medium fighter freighter thing with pilot guns found on light fighters, a turret you can't pay another player to sit in, enough missiles to take out a hammerhead if you could fire them all at once (and I have), a profile like a cardboard box and both the durability and handling to match, oh and a single shield. Almost forgot about that. And into this comes a troop carrier, with of course enough extra seats and guns to require the attention of 8 people to put in a ship that's the red-headed stepchild of the verse. You've really built it, maybe, I mean just maybe the time spent doing this may have been better spent on trying to shrink the oversized model instead of building a Tesco value Valkyrie?
