I didn't need auto aim before but I definitely feel the game needs it. SC needs to be built to cater to all skill and age levels. We don't need yet another game ruined by the hyper demanding and extremely vocal 1% pro level players. Just look at Fortnite. It is experiencing a spiral of balance suffering. The 1% pros make the game unplayable for everyone else. The casuals are tired of being killed in the first 30 seconds by pros. EPIC nerfs the tools that the pros abuse. The pros (who are influencers) complain on Twitch, Reddit and Twitter and bring hate to the game. Meanwhile they still remain too good and the casuals still aren't having fun, so the game bleeds its player base. Back to SC The auto aim, which has already been nerfed and made harder to use, allows regular players to experience combat which they simply could not before. It will allow them to have a fighting chance to defend themselves. PVP isn't optional and all players deserve the chance to defend themselves. Even with auto aim, they still won't be as good as a pro, but it does give them a fighting chance to at least limp away. Auto aim was never meant for the pros to use, but if you do use it, don't complain afterwards. Don't act like just because it exists you're "forced" to use it. Each targeting option has it's benefits and it's odd that those complaining are ignoring this. For instance, it's almost impossible to aim at components with auto aim. That's a big deal, especially when targeting larger ships. Pros are selfish and ruin many games for the general public. CIG are making the right decision here. They recognize the need to make the game accessible to all from the start (before beta). If you want a pro dominated game, go play Fortnite or Apex, any top Twitch game or any other SIM flight game, or just play SC with fixed weapons and aim for components on ships. You will still be better than the regular guys, so stop whining and trying to create barriers for others - auto aim is not a barrier for you.
