The automatic slowdown that happens after letting go of the afterburner in SCM Mode is the single most immersion breaking pain point for me. The switch from Nav to SCM feels like I'm changing my spaceship into a bumper car; our ship's systems are actively working against us. If a Gladius can fire weapons with with an active afterburner "boosted" at 520 m/s, there's no reason the ship should need to use it's own systems to disadvantageously slow back down to 225 m/s. Look, I'm not asking for pre-mastermode speeds here. You can keep the lower top speeds in SCM Mode if it helps performance or whatever. Anyone else agree that changing modes should not completely alter the in-game physics? Update: The proposition isn't infinite speed/acceleration. The request is to make it so when a ship hits the SCM MODE'S MAX SPEED, it stays there. That's it. It doesn't slow down unless input is applied in another direction. NAV mode already operates this way, just with a higher max speed. Most understand this but some comments are wildly missing the point here :expressionless:
