This post is mainly directed to those of you with very limited playtime and want drastic changes to the quantum travel system. I quite frankly think you've been treated too good in Star Citizen, which seems to be an unfortunate result of coincidence. Despite your limited playtime, you already have it SO good in Star Citizen due to the funding model: - You are allowed to buy any ship you want for real money. A ship you didn't even play the game to earn. - You are allowed to stock up on ingame credits bought for real money. This gets you past any ingame cost for fueling/crewing whatever ship you have. These are all fine things as they are a part of Star Citizen's funding model. It just seems to me you're getting way too comfortable with all the travel time-talk. When will you stop demanding things? First it was PvP slider and now this. Look, I understand that those of you who can only play a few hours per week want to do stuff in Star Citizen. The way you go about it with regards to travel times is something I think is so wrong, however. Through all of this, we mustn't forget that SC is supposed to be one thing; and that's a space sim. I've read so many crazy ideas on this forum from people with limited playtime. Everything from: - Short travel times in general. - "Fast travel" with instantaneous arrival on destination. - "Offline" travel. I have a few questions for those of you who want any of those things. Have you forgotten that SC is suppsoed a space sim? A living, breathing universe where you and your crew(if any) fly about the universe to do whatever you want? Scan, combat, whatever. This doesn't mean that you should be able to go absurd distances in short amount of times just because you want to be at a specific spot to do a specific thing. You can argue that you want to play the actual game and not sit around looking at a screen. Well then what about: - Walking around the ship, checking components and maintaining your ship during quantum. - Communicating with orgmembers or NPC crew and plan future events or building relationships. - Watching markets, ingame news networks / bountyboards etc while traveling This should be your game experience in a space sim, not magically appearing in the furthest away system just because you have a 1-2 hour playsession and feel entitled that you should get your thing done or x% of it shouldn't be spent traveling. Please don't butcher Star Citizen, the space sim and the MMO just because you can't play as much. Instead, embrace the game for what it's supposed to be and find your own fun. You will get to your location eventually even if you can't get there in 1 session or quantum there while offline. The focus should be on the journey, not the end. There's so much in the game to do. Peace.
