Greetings, I cannot even fathom the massive failure in communication by CIG since Alpha 3.18s LIVE release! According to the Alpha 3.18 RSI Update Page this patch is the biggest and most important one since Alpha 3.0 added PlanetTech to the game. CIG released an Alpha 3.18 trailer highlighting 3.18s new gameplay and content features. They also released a RSI Scorpius Antares and DRAKE Vulture trailer, whit this trumping up the PR hype train for 3.18. Finally the patch drops Friday night … And right from the first second it goes live – nothing works! The log in fails for everyone with a showing of 19004 error. Spectrum is down for hours as well. Not a word from CIG. If you managed to get past the 19004 you are queued for days according to the queue timer. If you luck out and get through, your login request timed out. Sending you back in to the queue. Hours after live release there is still not a word from CIG on what is going on, until eventually a CIG community manager has a free second to answer a random spectrum thread saying “we are working on it”. Then, not a beep in that thread ever since from this or any other community manager. Later there is a twitter twatter from CIG staff saying once again "we are working on it”. No update since. I tried most of my evening yesterday to get in to the game and with the initial 19004s eventually got in to loading screen to then get “you may wait many hours” queue which then timed out. Today I tried again to get in to the Star Citizen 3.18 PU - and did not manage to get past the 19004 error. So first I checked the Star Citizen Status page and it says all issues are “resolved” and everything is green. Obviously that is not the case, else I would get in to the game without any hitch. So I go and check reddit and the majority of threads are talking about players not getting in to the game. So I go and check Spectrum and there are the same topics but there is not a single official Update on 3.18s issues - none! “Its week end, leave them alone!”. No. I work almost every weekend myself as do millions of people around the globe in health care, taxi drivers, bus drivers, airplane pilots, gas stations, factory shift workres, 24/7 Shopping Mals, ISP / Smartphone Service Hotlines etc and there are more people having to work over the weekend every year! I am happy for you if you happen to not have to work over the weekend. But that is not the case for all of mankind! So please stop using “its weekend” as an excuse for why things cannot happen, as it spits in to the face of anyone who has to work through the weekends (and holidays). And if Alpha 3.18 is THIS important for SCs future and development and CIG - they just can NOT release this so important but massivley delayed 3.18 Patch late on a Friday evening - then proceed to leave office and have it crash and burn for two days until eventually they will get back to it on Monday morning. CIG, please talk to us! Give us an Update!! What is happening to mend 3.18s issues? TldR Once again CIG fails at communication! The hailed new 3.18 patch finally goes live, crashes and burns and CIG remains silent on what they are going to do about it. And no “its weekend” isn’t good enough, as millions have to work throughout the weekend and if 3.18 is this important, so should CIG. Edit: UPDATE at 20:48 - By now, many hours later, did CIG update the SC Status page and it now does say "Unresolved - Infrastructure Recovery" and "Persistent Universe, Electronic Access - Major Outage". And there is a longer post a the RSI Knowledge Base listing the currently known issues CIG are working on. However. This doesn't negate the fact CIG took their sweet time to start to acknowledge and respond to their supporters concerns about the massive problems the 3.18 Release caused. As such my criticism about CIGs lag of communication after the 3.18 live release with hours of complete silence when isues started to show still stands. Credit where credit is due - KUDOS to the Devs that are working and currently powering through the Weekend in an attempt to mend the 3.18 live situation! As always - keep it civil in the comments.
