I just wanted to state MY perception and thoughts and articulate a question I have. To do so I want to reflect the latest discussions on Pyro: From my perspective, Pyro so far was not a PVP zone as some people stated, it was a griever zone. For that assessment I base myself on the purpose of a game. If I attack random players in a PVP battle royal shooter, that's the point of the game, so no grieving. Star Citizen is supposed to be a realistic immersive, grown-up space simulation, is it? So if I randomly attack players without this being embedded in a logical, immersive and controlled gameplay loop with clear motives, it is grieving. Just because things are possible, especially since regulations and controll mechanism have not yet been effectively implemented, does not change this fact, no matter how often people say "don't cry" or "stay in Stanton". So one direct question to CIG: Did you put all your hard, great artistic work building Pyro for years so that it is used as a cheap map for Griefing PVP? Do you want a game where, when I see another player, instantly go to guard, pull my gun and start shooting him due to the toxic environment (better him than I) or do you want that I go to him/her, greet, talk, coop or maybe if interests conflict, have a fight? While you built the game please take into account that this decision is also part of building a game and at a certain point in time may not simply be patched, if SC has a certain reputation.. I put hundreds of Dollars in it and I would do it again so far, but I am honest, I fear we'll have a DayZ kind of game where the biggest player base may turn their backs on. Quick edit as I get more and more the feeling that few people here are capable of differentiated thinking!? PvP should be part of SC. There should be missions and mechanics like there already are, e.g. when a crime-stat triggers a bounty hunter mission. There should be risk and preparation for it. But I want it in a fair, realistic and immersive way, that means including risk and consequences for both sides. What I don't want is random player killing and grieving without consequences and a misuse of SC as a simple playground for trolls. This kills the immersion and SC is simply too precious for that. Pyro should be dangerous, but that danger should come from riskier missions or it being a pirate haven, not me having to play a battle royale to even get to the ASOP terminal..
