This whole food/water thing... did anyone actually ask for it? I mean, I became a backer 6ish years ago, and I was backing for a next-level space sim. I signed on to fly ships, explore space, maybe do some mining or salvage or combat, so on and so forth. I don't recall pledging for the Sims 5. I get that we want to have an immersive game environment, and that necessitates a balance between gamey systems and realism, but it seems that lately we're way off balance towards the 'realism' end of that spectrum and we're sliding down this slope into more and more feature creep. It's always been a problem with star citizen's development, but there comes a point where you have to just stop with trying to pack every feature you can possibly think of into into the game and just accept that it's still a game. I feel like by this time next year, I'm going to need a second keyboard hooked up just to handle keybinds for taking a piss. Controls have already gotten over complicated, it seems to be the motto of SC development already to take simple, tried-and-proven systems used in other games and somehow overcomplicate and convolute them into something that takes a military tech manual to figure out. It's getting to the point where I'm having to ignore entire game systems or flight systems being added just because I dont have the keybind space for it, or the hours needed to memorize all of it. Am I the only one thinking this? I mean, did we have anyone here that seriously WANTED prison gameplay, drinking and eating survival-game systems, etc.? And, as a closing note... if you're going to force these systems onto us, maybe make sure they work smoothly first? We still have to stop everything we're doing and bring up mobiglass to see game chat without a helmet... but we cant drink or eat with a helmet on. How is that immersive? Has nobody in this futuristic age invented a damn straw? A camelpack? Why cant I just hook a bottle of water up to my suit and have it run to a straw in my helmet? Or hell, at least give us glasses or contacts to see mobiglass text chat. This is one of those features that is just too far into "realism" when it should be a game system that doesnt need explanation. Communication is kind of a priority in a multiplayer game, so having your chat turned off every time you take your helmet off for a drink is pretty retarded IMO.
