I'd argue the same for any of the other MK.x ships, but for the price of the Connie, it really needs one. I, and certainly many others, bought my ships with the expectation that they'll have all of the systems and perks of the game on LAUNCH, and a little bit to the way it looks in design language. We should not have to pay extra for the pledge just to have the ship functional with all features of the game as the game is updated. Any less is anti-consumer practice that punishes long-term supporters. A CCU would give people who want to keep their OG Connie the ability to do so, while giving long term backers who want to the ability to have the ship updated to the latest standard for the game when it hits release. Because the 'product' isn't even a product yet. We're not at 1.0. Also Constellation pledges literally built the company's early crowdfunding momentum in October/November 2012. Relegating that original flagship chassis to an obsolete state before 1.0 without a sidegrade path is a slap in the face to the very backers who made the project possible. [Edit] If the MK5 is in fact modular as people suggest it may be, then the CCU token should only cover the ship and module that is paired with the old variant. So the Andromeda gets the module with the missiles and snub dock, the Taurus gets that extra capacity and the shielded cargo area, Aquila gets sensor package module. That does pose a few problems with the Phoenix variant but I'm sure they can figure that out.
