Dear CIG, I believe an intervention is required. Like many who have stuck around through thick and thin, I love the game...and probably always will, or at least the idea of it. I am not aiming to go anywhere and will continue to make poor financial decisions I am sure, but there are some serious posts on the forum that could do with your attention please. On the forum, most of the content is discontent...about the content of SC. Surely that must be sending a message that needs addressing? I also understand it cannot be a comfortable situation to be in for anyone involved. Please have some free consultation for crisis management (I used to charge a lot of money to do this so CIG you are doing well here and from myself and others in the community  ) The Stats I trawled through the entire last month of threads in just the General section. Yes I must be a sucker for punishment and I fully expect plenty of Captain Picard faces, bottles and the like! Each page has 50 posts and I went over 41 pages which is a total of 2050 posts in the month. Here is what I found by breaking down the posts into five themes: 471 Direct Angry Criticism posts against CIG 198 QOL Requests/Further Criticism 185 Posts about bugs 23 Praise for CIG Posts (some of these might have been trolling?) 9 Quit Posts along the lines of "I am done" Of all 2050 posts - CIG responded to a total of 11 and the pattern is that they tend to respond to player reports, issues with stickers, the font changing on spectrum, item wipe and 1 reply for a financial report. The rest of the posts (1164) are general questions, neutral observations, troll posts and others not of a critical nature. And remember - this is just from one month...thus this post isn't just about the game - its about the management of Spectrum too. This may be unpopular, but here are the main points I have gleamed and interpreted myself from the critical posts of what people want and may need: Consider stopping the adding of any new content into the game so you can fix what we have No events, no new ships and no new systems - get bug stomping Worst case: Lock the Games Ideas category temporarily if you cannot manage it, in fact consider either deleting it along with the "Ask a Dev" thread which are rarely responded to Optimal: Delete these categories or assign a forum staff member to manage it properly - I believe that keeping it open without it being managed gives false hope and is not conducive to a harmonious community that feels respected Focus all manpower on quality control, get the ship builders to test their creations for example...Sort out the elevators once and for all, stop cargo from disappearing...all the little things like this...Get all of the ships updated and fully working Aim to reply to more posts and set goals (minimum service levels) to do so... In the words of the great English chef Marco Pierre White: "Perfection is doing lots of little things - really well." Make perfection CIG with what you already have. In psychology, we deal with fragmented personalities and CIG is suffering from this. (I should add that we all suffer from this at one stage or another in life) We want Gestalt though. We all know that the key to a solid house is to make the foundations strong first and time waits for no man, and it isn't going to wait for CIG either. I believe you can do this as you have the financial resources to do so, I (or should I say "we") just think that perhaps a different radical approach should be encouraged where a switch to quality over quantity is required. I should add six last things: I believe the work you have done so far is fantastic in the grand scheme of things from the day in 2015 where I remember there was a single station I do not expect a reply and will not be angry or ungrateful if I don't get one - but a reply is a sign of respect, I am aware that I am most likely screaming into the void here  My suggestion is naïve and I am sure what I (and others )am saying is probably harder to do and organise than just "making it so", but if you can take away one thing from this it is that we want to hear more from you...good or bad news, we crave information from the horses mouth, in the product that we are investing in I believe that anyone here wants the best for this game which is why we invested in it You are risking making your customers feel disrespected and while I do not think this is intentional, it is important to not take your customers for granted, many feel that you are doing just that Feedback for us players/customers on Spectrum use Please make your thread titles are legible, really clear, free of sarcasm and not vague, so if CIG do ever trawl then the title will make it easier to understand what the thread content is about. You will also get more player engagement A lot of the post titles were confusing. What I mean by this is not an attack, but that the title was either misleading, hard to gauge what the content might be, misspelled or irrelevant (I am sure my own post header could use some work hehe! ) Keep posts that contain criticism toward CIG civil and polite, I know it is hard to control emotions at times, but if you are seething (and some posts you could feel the anger) then please consider stepping away, sleep on it and perhaps post the next day Post in the correct place where possible. I am aware of the irony of me posting something for CIG to read in General, but I also understand that this is the thread with the most traction and visibility. It is also intentional to highlight how people just post in General in the hope of having the highest visibility, CIGS mission here should be to realise this and make the other categories just as attractive to post in. On the "Ask a Dev" category, I also looked at the stats here. Of 2050 posts - 20 had a response, so while the reply rate is still not high, you may have a better chance of a reply from CIG if you post questions related to devs there. If your post is an idea...post it in "Game Ideas", bug reports in Report a Bug etc. CIG - Lean into us as a community and just like how you have innovated the technology side of things - perhaps consider innovating in how you engage with the community on Spectrum, who despite all of the issues - are still here and engaging with you passionately. Thank you. EDIT 1 - I have just seen this: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/1/thread/alpha-4-0-1-current-issues-amp-updates-1 A step in the right direction, thanks CIG, and in my defence I started this post a few days ago now and have been hyper fixated on the data. That said, we have seen posts like this before and while I am not doubting the integrity of the poster, I am naturally sceptical (of everything in life) but quietly optimistic about the games future. I just think that community engagement could be managed better here going by my data. I don't mean anything personally. Thank you. EDIT 2 - Thanks for all the comments and interesting perspectives. I should add that there is an important human centred point here. The CIG employee must be brave to wade in on the forum on any thread, and I imagine it will feel quite overwhelming for him to do so, and when he does - that to me is deserving of respect. I really am not trying to contribute to any of that anxiety, I hope that is clear for anyone reading - be you a player or from CIG. I really do just want what is best for the game. I have worked in some dodgy places and with dangerous people and felt that way before. The thing is, I had a team behind me to support if need be so I felt supported and more empowered to act. It seems whatever the social media team make up is on here, they could do with perhaps a few more mods (or even volunteers) to help out and take the pressure off a bit perhaps. We need to have difficult conversations, but we need to have them calmly and with respect. To me, a sense of humour is a bonus. Thanks again.
