Seriously, how much more tone deaf could CIG appear?? I really don't understand their new approach. So, yesterday CIG takes an insulting tone against those within the community who've expressed legitimate concerns about the progress of SC and SQ42. Specifically, they stated: But there still remains a very loud contingent of Roadmap watchers who see projections as promises. And their continued noise every time we shift deliverables has become a distraction both internally at CIG and within our community, as well as to prospective Star Citizen fans watching from the sidelines at our Open Development communications. Now, their disingenuous and dismissive argument aside, CIG essentially paints concerned backers as a problem - a hinderance to development. And then today, the very next day, CIG announces a huge sales event encouraging backers to spend more money on SC: Gear Up Against XenoThreat! Looking to gear up and join the fight? The Navy and CDF are putting out a call to all pilots to fight back against the XenoThreat incursion. Whether you are flying solo or creating a squadron, the following civilian versions of the military's finest are perfect for battling through XenoThreat marauders and taking out their Idris flagships. Due to CIG's continual failures to deliver tangible progress on either SC and SQ42, my wallet was going to remain closed anyway; however, CIG's recent anti-customer comments only reinforce that decision. I really hope they sort out their strategic messaging, but they've undoubtedly damaged their customer relations with these recent decisions. We'll see whether, and to what degree, CIG's new tone affects their sales numbers in February and beyond. IMO, this was absolutely an unforced error, so any significant drop in expected funding hereafter can be traced directly back to yesterday.
