Community is still really split about it, but I fear it gets buried under all the new backlashes. We must remind CIG that we still do not like MM and that most* players want to revert to 3.22 flight model. The pressure must be kept on. Otherwise, the situation normalizes, and we have to live with this unpopular (and problematic) flight model forever. The time is now, before they enter Beta, because then it is most likely something that will never be changed. * Personal impression, from Spectrum, reddit, etc. Imo, a little more than 50% dislike it, while less than 25% actively like it. ____ P.s. Fact is: The broader community during 3.22, 3.21, 3.20, etc. has not been as vocally negative about the previous flight model as they have been about Master Modes. It appears that, despite additional time, people continue to dislike Master Modes - the further slowing down of ship speeds has even increased the disapproval of the community. The amount of upvotes this thread (despite being in the wake of CitizenCon 2954 and the outrage it brought) has, is in part proof of that. P.p.s. Another fact is: The game is a comprehensive simulation featuring food & drink & syringe mechanics, specific injury effects, death of a spaceman, realistic scaling, and spaceships with intricate physical components, etc. etc. etc. - game was always called Best Damn Space Sim Ever!!! Master Mode does not fit into that vision, contrary to the 3.22 flight model. I understand it is a game, and some compromises & features have to be made to make it enjoyable, but Master Mode has gone too far off the game's premise and promises. It truly affects immersion, feels clunky, and diminishes the role of skill in combat (now leaning more towards shield strength and firepower), amongst other issues. It also forces you more into combat, by making disengagements though, which benefits aggressors and disadvantages solo players. I am not surprised people think of it is as arcade & made for consoles, which are 2 of the most mentioned critiques of MM and other recent gameplay changes.
